Thank you Ms Rodent! I now know a little bit about something that I did not before!

I would like to add that if you use watercolor pencils you must be pretty careful when adding water to blend them because in my experience the paper easily gets "fuzzy." (I was using regular cardstock paper or matte paper though--not "real" watercolor paper.)
THere is another technique that is very similar and works much better for me. (I tend to do small things, cards, LTCs etc.) With this you use regular colored pencils (I use prismacolor) and a product called Gamsol. It is odorless mineral spirits and after you have the cool bottle with the sponge top you can refill with the much cheaper hardware store brand! After you color your image you use the rolled paper pencil things (not sure of the exact name!) and soak some gamsol from the top if the bottle and use it just as you would with watercolor pencils. It seems to blend easier and give a better mix of color.

Good luck Nitrocat with whatever style you decide to go with! It is fun starting a new hobby---one can never have enough of them! Terrio

We'll be taking you up on that firewood offer. Here in NY you're not allowed to bring firewood into the state campgrounds from more than 50 miles away due to the invasive species of bugs that can kill the trees. Is it the same deal there in MA?

Interesting! Makes sense. Not sure what the regulations are here in MA, but we have you covered. They can clock the mileage to our house and back from the campground on one hand. Pretty sure that's close enough!!!! ;o)

you should never put a letterbox inside a plastic bag.

This would be true for long term use but in this case it was a one time deal because of the HH. The box should reseal properly after the HH is removed.

I would love to meet for an exchange too.

Blue Jay point has the highest concentration of boxes with Harris Lake park being second.

If you have time a box in my opinion not to miss is: Waiting For Columbus: Apolitical Blues http://www.atlasquest.com/showinfo.html?gBoxId=53854

I agree with 1101010 - Blue Jay Point and the Falls Lake area have plenty of boxes - some with shorter walks and some longer. I've been out in that area the past 3 weekends and still have not got them all!

At issue is the infestation of the Asian Longhorn Beetle. There are several areas near us with watches issued, most significantly Monson Village in Milford, NH. They cause the death of sugar maples, a huge concern here in "syrup" country!
Here is a link about them in MA...
http://www.na.fs.fed.us/fhp/alb/
I saw a news story somewhere recently about the restrictions on bringing your own firewood while camping. Folks often bring their own from home, no matter how far they are traveling. The wood can be infested with bugs native to "home" that are then introduced somewhere else as the firewood sits in a campsite waiting to be burned...

Where's the o s**t button.
Any chance they weren't double but two of the same name?
I know I had two like that, but tweaked the names slightly by adding the planters name in the title so I knew which was which.
I'm Guessing these particular two CFL may have had too because they were from L&B

The Robin Williams Interview on Inside the Actor's Studio was classic. If you haven't seen Inside the Actor's Studio, they do interviews about the work. No Tabloid stuff. So it really is fascinating. Robin was supposed to be explaining how to do comedy, how improvisation works and he took a Pashmina scarf from a girl on the front row and proceded to do a million different things with it, each funnier than the last!

I'm just curious - what kind of things are there for you to volunteer to do?

I just researched and planted a series in Reed Bingham State Park in SW GA and discovered this volunteering opportunity. Sounds very interesting!

I started to click the agree button, meaning I wish *I* could lose them as easily too. Then realized that could be totally misconstrued. So here is my verbal agree, that I wish it were that easy for myself as well.
