I'll send your cards after the Chandler swap is over and everyone has received their cards from the swap, because I think that's the proper etiquette. (Am I right? Correct me if I'm wrong! New at this!)

That would be correct!

I just finished my Chandler cards tonight too.

In the mean time, I actively taught my kids to do their own laundry. This greatly lightened my load as they grew older.

Here, here! :) Though I still have to check to make sure they were diligent.

it could be that some guys may be into letterboxing precisely because it appeals to females.

Or because we just love nature and have a creative side.

You might want to take your crock into your local hardware store.

Wow, that's great info. Thanks. I haven't looked online because there are so many different sizes nowadays.

My Crocky would look good in a new hat.

Then half the boxes you printed out clues for go missing before you get on the road.

Hi Julie,

Welcome.

My suggestion is exactly what worked for me when I discovered this site. I spent the whole night reading the items in the "Toolbox" up on the menu. I learned so much there. I learned where to buy the pink stuff. How to carve a stamp. All about logbooks.

There is so much info there. Such as, rehiding a box, stealth, all the good stuff.

Have fun,
Janet

I'll stick with the sweets, thanks...I want to ENJOY life, not Slimfast it! :-)

I wouldn't drink Slimfast on a bet. My wife and I enjoy eating far more than ever before since we figured out that carbs were bad for you and should be avoided. Turns out they taste like fillers, too -- meals are far, far more delicious without them.

OK, I got one! Ryan, explain this one: right now in my inbox I have a comment from InveterateLearner about my Sikorsky S-76 letterbox, and I am not given the option to approve it before it's visible to the masses. I am only given the option to delete it. And I did go back and double-check my preferences, and I am set for "moderate all comments".

Mind you, I have no intention of deleting this comment. It's very complimentary. But I want Ryan to see that I'm not nuts, there are some comments coming through with a "Delete" option rather than an "Approve" option.

Well you might as well try the dab of superglue and see what happens. Kirbert gives good Wikki, but if you are going to toss it anyway...

*who really is not as attached to the outcome of the missing eye as these posts may lead one to assume*

Right all round, I imagine~!

Sometimes a good bonk on the head is just the thing. ;)

(missing eye and all)

Thank you.

Perhaps we might aim to stir up an SJ event together sometime in the future?

I'm planning to attend the event in Placerville on Nov. 8, so perhaps I'll get notions for creating a happening closer to home...

Whaddyasay?

Letterboxing appears to appeal to females primarily

I noticed at Live and Breathe the females outnumbered the males.

I took up boxing because I like the "treasure hunt" idea of it plus I needed an excuse to do more walking.

letterboxing appeals to people with imagination and creativity, primarily. unfortunately, those qualities are crushed out of many of the little boys in our society, while being encouraged in little girls...only the best of the litle boys can retain these qualities into their adulthood...and they are sucked into letterboxing.

I'm female, but I took up boxing for the exact same reasons he did. my doctor told me to walk...and once you've been around the neighborhood a couple of times, you get bored. but...tell me there's a box at the end of the trail, and I'll walk until I collapse to get to it.

You aren't listed as the owner. In fact, nobody is listed as the owner, so the default action is to post the comment.

agreed. i started lb'ing as a way to spend quality time with my daughter. finding interesting places you never knew were there, the cerebral satisfaction of solving cryptic clues, and attending events and meeting new friends you have something in common with also add to the allure.

I've been up Adams too. . . I signed with a smiley face.

I knew there was something that I liked about you. Birds of a feather, or the insane tend to run together ;-)

I did not box either when I climbed but I did snow board of the top of Mt Adams!!! I did not summit Rainer because I was 3 months pregnant and at camp Adams (the 10,000 foot camp) I made the call to send my group up with out me, I still question weather I would have been able to make it but it was right at the time. I still have not climbed St Helen's though that might be fun climb to do.
