So I'll start us out... are there any extra Wizard of Oz stamps floating out there that need a good home? I have a great location for them, but haven't had time to carve the stamps.

Suggestion: We might all remember the Photo Album feature here on AQ and use it liberally here -- as in, upload scans of images of stamps you have available for swap and provide a link to those images in a message posted here. Or, upload an image of a stamp you need and ask someone to carve it. Be sure to delete all those images after the swaps are arranged, both to avoid cluttering up the AQ HD and to avoid letting anyone see the stamp image before they go hunt it!

Hi there. I would like to plant more letterboxes, but don't get into the carving too much. I have need of (1) Abraham Lincoln stamp (2) 3 different fish stamps, (3) something to do with money/armored car, and a (4) woman stabbing her husband at an oriental restaurant. (I'll tell you the stories if you are interested.)

Drat, I just planted one a week ago - wasn't gonna plant it, but created the box in the last minute rush on PAL day and then stumbled across a great place to plant it. Are you looking for 3 different generic fish stamps, or three stamps of different kinds of fish (ie salmon, trout, bass).

OK, OK. I want to do a series here on the Stupid Crimes of Gaston County. Over 15 years ago there was a woman who caught her husband cheating on her, and she stabbed hiim in the kitchen of their Oriental Restaurant. He was hospitalized and developed an infection. The lady actually sued the hospital because of the infection! Anybody out there want to take a crack at carving that stamp? I would love to plant it at the site of that restaurant.

Thanks Kirbert. I would love to plant a stamp commemorating this very ridiculous event in my County's history. We here in Gaston County are incredibly proud of the mental giants who tried to pull off this crime. I just pray my children aren't being adversely affected by sharing the same school system as these criminals! :)

My area is known for its "Fish Camps." People come from all over to eat at these fish restaurants. I would just like any fish stamps to pay honor to these "historic landmarks." You can carve anything having to do with fish. I'll give my address to anyone interested in sending me stamps with these themes, and I'll plant them. I've had these ideas for years, yet with the job, 3 kids, husband expecting to have a somewhat clean house, etc., I just don't do the carving. Thanks to you who are volunteering. I'll be so excited to see your works of art!

I carve fish, fishing, fisherman theme stamps all the time -- and you ain't getting them! I need every one I can get myself! Seems half the nice places I find to plant letterboxes are at great places to fish. Sorry!

Well, if anyone else wants to carve fish stamps, send them on to me, and I'll commemorate you as the author and carver of new letterboxes in North Carolina. I can't believe it will be over 90 degrees here tomorrow and it is only June. I plan on trying some of those bug off devices so Letterboxing might be bug free as we enter the warm weather. Has anybody tried them yet?

I think we'd only be the carvers... The author is the person that authored the clue - that'll have to be you... unless you are offering return airfare and accomodations to NC for us to take that off your plate too; in which case, count me in!! ;o)

This is a great idea Carrianne! I have a box full of stamps with no where to plant them. I would love to swap stamps with others to get some new carving styles here in the PNW.

I do have a nickle stamp with the image of George Washington that is about 2 inches in diameter. If you want it BB, send me your address offline and I will send it to you.

I would go for something more simplistic like the knife itself and include parts of the story in the clue. A dagger would be really easy.
