Read Board: Ryan's a Total Goober
Trust me, he is a total goober. But he has managed to survive without working at a regular job for 3 and a half YEARS!!! There might be something to gooberdom!
But feel free to Bash Ryan here. He is only human and needs to be reminded of that sometimes! Plus a little constructive criticism is good for the soul!
-Amanda from Seattle
that he makes little girls actually throw up. It's true, I saw it with my own eyes!
OK although I am scared to ask.... I'm asking!!!!

Ryan was playing with Turtle McQ's daughter and he was spinning her on the merry-go-round at the park. We were all in the pavilion at the letterboxing gathering and Turtle McQ's daughter comes staggering over, "Mommy, I don't feel so good" she says. And she proceeds to throw up for several minutes. Ryan claims that she kept saying "Faster, Faster, Faster!" on the merry-go-round and that he had no idea that she was feeling sick. Of course, I did see her eat almost an entire plate of brownies earlier in the day, so it was probably for the best that she got rid of all that sugar in her system! :-)
-Amanda from Seattle
That she loves him and misses him desperately already? :-)
Ryan completely charmed her (all of us, actually), and she's still talking about all the fun we had with Amanda and Ryan during their visit. None of us can wait until they come back for our gathering next June. We'll try to avoid a repeat of the vomit, though.
TurtleMcQ
Next time, I just hope she has candy just so I can take it away. ;o)

Can you still hear, after all the screaming for Johnny Depp?

We were in the very back row, on the left side of room (if you're facing the stage). I'm seated between my mom (on my left) and Amanda (on my right) with my sister to the right of Amanda.
We figure we would be pretty hard to spot--even if you do know where we are. I yelled extra loudly in the hopes that you guys could at least hear me screaming. =)
Lots of fun, but I'll write details about the adventure a bit later! Just got back into SLO about a half hour ago!

This time you guys get a "special edition" volume about a motorcycle accident that happened just tonight, right outside this very window where I was working on Atlas Quest. After standing outside for one and a half hours to get all the scoop, I immediately came back in and typed up everything that happened. Hot off the presses! This accident only happened about three hours ago!
I tell you, in the last two years, I've heard five separate accidents within a block or two of Amanda's place. This is a regular event!

I hear your home town is 2nd on the list of best places to live! I don't know which list it is. I just heard it on the radio.
Amyrica
It is a nice place to live if you can afford it. ;o) (The housing prices are some of the highest in the country! Guess that's to be expected for a place where everyone wants to live, though!)

Did our intrepid hero make the cut? or is his starring footage lying on the cutting room floor? Well, honestly I couldn't tell you, having never met or seen the Goober himself. But it was a nicely done film, with plenty of commentary from actual hikers.
Congratulations on your accomplishment, albeit belatedly!
MoonBunny
That sounds like the one! =) I didn't make the Doyle Hotel cut, but that was me hopping around on the rocks at Sunfish Pond. You can also see glimpses of both Amanda and myself at a road crossing where friends of Loser threw a feast just outside of Duncannan (where the Doyle Hotel is) right on the trail. =)
Those are my only two cameos on the show, though.

Okay, there's still more to write, but it has the first few days, at least. =)

Sheeze, the setup for these themes has changed SOO much since I first started them! It took me nearly as long to fix these old themes to fit with the new setup as it does creating them from scratch! I had to fix the graphics since they used to have rounded corners marking the "content window". (Got rid of that since I felt the margins used up too much space.) The menu bars! They used to be static, boring things that were two layers deep. Now it's just a one-layer menu bar with drop down menu items.
Plus I changed it so a change of theme happens *immediately* for *everyone*. None of that caching problem anymore where people are posting, "But... but.... I don't see the chick with the pumpkin! WHAT spiders? I don't see that either! And it's weird because everything to blue and orange. What's up with that?" (Did you notice--not one single person complained about not being able to see the back-to-school theme when I changed it?!)
But sheeze, the original CSS has so radically changed, it's like I was starting from scratch. I hope the next year I don't make so many changes to the CSS so the themes don't have to be redone EVERY year! =)
Okay, you guys don't care, but I have my own board and darn it, I wanted to use it! ;o)

Good job and thanks for all the hard work.
Ryan, is this the PMS talking? You can tell us. Have a chocolate bar. Have 20. That will help some. ;)
You do a lovely job. And those jeans definitely don't make your butt look larger thanWyoming. Really.

Well, fortunately for me, there aren't what I'd call "bad sections" in this particular town. =) Oh, there's the "college section" which can get pretty rowdy at times. And just yesterday I saw some punk get pulled over outside of Barnes and Nobel and arrested! (Must have been drinking and driving since I saw the cop making him walk lines and such.) But all-in-all, it's not half bad. =)
Feed the hunger! If you starve it, you'll only make it worse! ;o)

Bet the local paper'd be interested, too.

By the way, where are you keeping your adventures nowdays? I always enjoyed reading them. Have you kept up your personal page? I had the address saved on my computer that crashed.
Like the blog. Ironically, like the comment that someone posted, it is the template I chose too for mine. I haven't seen as many with that template. Here is mine (although it badly needs updating). http://letterboxing.blogspot.com/
