If anyone is checking this board, you may want to go check the event calendar. We are going to have a gathering in Moab on April 10th. It should be a blast!

there are four boxes, three in downtown salt lake, and the fourth not far...the three downtown go missing far too frequently for me to repair them from phoenix az where I live. I have carved a complete new set of stamps, but have no way to get them placeed, have no idea if the entire boxes are mising or just the contents, and I really think the boxes would be better off with a local owner, and posibly replanted in nearby but more secure locations. I will gladly send the stamps I have to anyone willing to adopt them and give them homes...otherwise I'll probably have to retire the boxes and use the replacement stamps for coties or something. Anyone willing to adopt my the series should AQ mail me.

I'm wondering if you ever got a reply to this post? If not, you may want to try posting on the Rocky Mountain talk list, which includes Utah. I think you'll find it's more active list than this one.

Hi there,
I just wanted to announce a new letterbox we planted today. It is called They Long To Be. This is our first box planted in Utah, though we hope to add many more in the future. We're Utah natives but currently live in Washington State. Hope to hear from lots of finders!

I think that you'll find more Utah/Rocky Mountain-area boxers hang out on the Yahoo list rather than AQ. You may want to repost your Q there for suggestions:

I'm working to change that! We live in WA right now but were just home in Utah last week. I took most of my family out to find boxes while we were there and even got one of my sisters set up with an account here. Gotta get more boxes planted along the wasatch front so I have something to do when we visit! I mean besides seeing all of my family and friends. That sounded bad.

We planted one new box in the Bountiful area last week http://www.atlasquest.com/lboxes/clue/index.html?gBoxId=36611
and I have a bunch of ideas for boxes that we'll try to plant next year (unless I can get Frozen Assets to do it for me sooner) so watch out for them!

Good Luck Buppsters! Contact me by email if you'd like any info on the boxes that we found while we were there. Some of them were in Odgen (I've been out of state a long time, that's near Eden, isn't it?).

Coming to SLC for Spring

I'll be staying at one of those long-term hotels west of the airport.

In looking at the map, I wonder what all that is between the airport and the lake. I see power lines and empty space. Is it wetlands?

Hey Rick!
Although I'm not at all familier "in person" with the area...I do have a suggestion. The Utah tourism website, and I suspect SLC has one too might be a good place for info. As might the parks department there.

I got some maps from Rand McNally's website, with great service and fast turn around.

I am preparing for a trip to the Ogden area in August...and I am impressed with the quality of information that I am getting from the various agencies.

I'm in SLC and it is so beautiful I can't wait for the weekend. I guess I'll have to rent a car this weekend because there isn't much to do out here by the airport. On Saturday there is a festival downtown, if you like that type of thing.

Yesterday outside of my hotel I saw a older couple searching (a little too obviously) on the side of the road with a GPSr in his hand and I stopped and asked if they were looking for a geocache and he just grinned sheepishly.

I used to go to SLC 2 times per year for a trade show at the Salt Palace. SLC is a fun town-check out the Dead Goat Salon (if it is still there and you are so inclined).
If you have a car it is worth your drive to head up to Park City-it's beautiful and a fun town to walk around in.

Judging from the clue hits, there has been a little bit of interest in our Community Theater Series that we announced back in July. Due to the usual roadblocks that come along with a collaborative effort we were delayed in getting the actual clues posted but they are finally there for your enjoyment!

Wanted to let you know so you can enjoy the series before the weather turns cold. Happy Hunting.

Since Rocky Mountain-area boxers tend to hang out more on the local Yahoo list, rather than AQ, generally speaking, you might also want to consider posting there:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/RMLetterboxing/

(you gotta join the list to post, and there is a posting delay on one's first post only to thwart spammers...but it's the place for local updates!....)

Thanks for placing boxes in the Rocky Mtn. states!

Your sister must be Samoan Sista, right?? I've been eyeing "Pumpkin Pie" with much envy. I't on my list. I just haven't gotten there yet. I'm in Salt Lake. Next time I drive up to that area though, I'll go get it. I have one I placed right around the same time, and no one has gone to get it either.

I live in Salt Lake City, and I already have the clues printed out, so I can look for it when I go up in the direction of Roy. I'll get together with Curly Grrrly and we'll find it together. We will email your sister when we do.

So our family is planning a family reunion at this place. http://www.wgparkcity.com/

I was wondering if anyone familiar with the area would know if there are boxes somewhat close by? We were wanting to introduce some of the family to our hobby so I'm looking for ones that are available. I am also planning on planting some as well. Thanks, The B Hunters of St. Louis

Yes, there are. Do an AQ search for Park City UT or an LBNA search for Summit County UT.

When are you coming? Right now most of the boxes are going to be under a few feet of snow!

HI All -

Today my husband got a call from a head hunter for a LARGE well known company in your area. How they got his name, we are not sure. But the job offer was legit. This is the 2nd job offer he has received for Salt Lake City area, from different companies in the past couple of years & he is NOT looking to change jobs. Maybe someone is trying to tell us something. If all of our parents werent still with us, we might think more seriously about the offer. The boys would adjust. More travel involved for DH & he so doesnt like to travel. But job description was right up his alley! So maybe someday.
