Tis a shame indeed. However, it is a known fact that "good Luck" comes from clean living and having pure thoughts. Perhaps that might explain it.

What kind of standard is that?! You call that living? I guess I'll be forced to continue to make my own luck.
Are you sure that your travel name is "Get Smart" and not "Smart Ass"? ;)

Historical House Box in Lansing, MI

Hi all,
We attempted to find this box on Friday and were unsuccessful. Is there anyone out there in letterbox land that has found this box? We "think" we were in the correct spot but of course we have been wrong before. There was quite a bit of evidence that there had been some flooding in the area recently so the box may have floated away. All in all we had a great two days of letterboxing in Lansing while celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary... we found 7 out of 8. Someday we may actually reach the F-100 club. Have a great day!

Trail Troll and Team Rabbit have been great at helping me with my "problem child", "Fort Gratiot Lighthouse". Team Rabbit just replaced the box and logbook so it should be fine. If you visit my three orphans please take extra baggies with you (just in case). It seems that everyone that is the nearest to these boxes is about an hour away!

Official approval for Southeast Michigan Metroparks!!!
Board: State: Michigan
Jun 2, 2006 7:21am
Hi to all the Southeast Michigan boxers out there (and those Boxers wishing to plant in Southeast MI regardless of your dwelling location!) -
I have succeeded in getting official approval from the Huron-Clinton Metroparks System for us to place letterboxes in the parks :) This means that the park rangers are aware of the sport of Letterboxing, know where the boxes are, and won't remove or dispose of them.
The Metroparks will be adding a Letterboxing dropdown on their website (www.metroparks.com) as well as other fun goodies!
The only thing they ask in return is for us to fill out a permit. The permit is free and you can either e-mail, mail or fax the completed permit with clues to Tim Philips. Once the permit and clues are approved, you can then place your box. (They just want to ensure it's not placed in a sensitive area, etc.)
Tim's contact info is:
Tim Phillips
Huron-Clinton Metropolitan Authority
Administrative Offices
13000 High Ridge Drive
Brighton, MI 48114-9058
tim.phillips@metroparks.com
Just wanted to share this happy news - yahoo!
I'm so excited!:)

Could someone check on a Grand Rapids box for me?
Board: State: Michigan
Oct 4, 2006 6:02am
Last summer I planted "Great Rings in Grand Rapids" while out for the Michigan gathering. I've been amazed to continue receiving "found" reports for the past year - it's in a well-maintained area of downtown Grand Rapids. But in early September, someone found it with all the contents spread out, and in late September, I got my first report from someone who couldn't find it.
I'm wondering if someone who lives in the area and perhaps has found it before could check on it for me?

I'm not! :)
But unfortunately I won't be able to attend your event either. But what a wonderful idea! Kudos to the event planners. For a minute, I thought the event was IN Iraq. I was wondering if an extreme box was one planted among the IEDs! Yipes!
I wish I could go to this event. I just finished a great book called "The Imperial Life in the Emerald City" about life in the Green Zone....and I would love to discuss it with someone who had been "over there."
Best of luck on the event and give my grateful regards to that soldier!

The Green Zone aka The International Zone/ IZ really is the imperial city...I am only a hop, skip, and an ied blast away...yet the worlds are so different...we have a muddy swamp/softball field, they have 2 24hr indoor pools, we have mud, they have all pavement, we see combat daily, the argue over foam latte at the green beans coffee...ah, the few, the proud, the Fobbits/TOCRoaches...BR1
