My least favorite was gym class as well but only when it was gymnastics. I almost broke my neck trying to a turn on the highbar. Otherwise it was one of my favorites (indoor soccer was cool... you could bounce it off a wall and pass to yourself to get around a defender). The other least favorite was Physics. I think I would have liked it if I had had a good teacher. It was by far my least favorite in college as well...yes, another lousy professor : (

who are the Oceanic Six

After Hurley mentioned the Oceanic Six, I kept saying to myself "Six?" "Six?" "Six?" as if that was somehow going to help me understand. :)

we know three of them, who are the other three?

Do we really know? This show is notorious for making us think we know something and then twisting things into something totally different.

I thought it might have been Ben at first too, but then when Jack first reads the article in the paper, he breaks down and cries. I don't think he'd have that reaction for Ben. Just my opinion.

i have found that maestercarve is very soft, and thick. You can get a pack of three or four different mediums to try from Stampeaz.com

I had some speed ball stuff that was kind of gray looking...it was super soft and easy to carve but I did not like it because it was too soft. I bought it from Hobby lobby when they were out of pink stuff and it was less than half the price of pink. BBG

Mastercarve is probably the easiest, but definitely not the best material (IMO). PZ Kut is firm but I think it is still easy to carve. The firmness definitely lends itself to better detail. Whatever you do, don't get Speedball Speedy Cut. It is kind of a tan color. It is soft, but it completely crumbles to pieces.

On a side note, the Atlas Quest board is only for things directly related to AQ itself. If you go to Boards in menus along the top, click on Categories and then Letterbox Central, you will see a number of very specific boards related to stamp carving, logbooks, tools, etc. Check them out! :)

I use them for hitch hikers. If the tin is big enough, I put the log in too. If not, I just use the tin as a container for the stamp, log book seperate.
But everything is put in a baggie

=0)

I don't like using just plain Altoids tins.
I like a tin with a good graphic. And I'll carve a stamp to match

I liked Running with Scissors, too. It was sad, but he has a warped sense of humor, which i like. Haven't read 'Dry' yet.

I liked color of water, too. I am also in a 'mixed' relationship so the views of a son were interesting to read. Our family is much more stable than his, and there aren't any religious conflicts. We also live in so. cal-where i think the tolerance is much higher for inter-racial stuff.

Anyone read shantaram, yet? I LOVED IT. And i hear that my boyfriend may be starring in it.

the only reason Johnny Depp isn't the father of my 84 children is because we haven't met yet. Oh yeah. And polygamy isn't legal in California.

My first log book was a small sketch book.

But now I love my 9 x 12.
I can get a whole series on one page. and it looks great!

And an artist, wandering through the woods with a big sketch book...looks less supicious

Ok, I'll take a stab at that one also, if you don't mind...

ahem

Noses in field guides, learning tree species,
Hiking while reading, you step in dog feces,
Slip in a mud puddle, land on your tail,
These are the things boxers face on the trail.

I bought some when I first started, then read the boards about the quality. I know, I'm bass ackwards sometimes.

So, I gave it as a gift to someone at a gathering.

When I get home from vacation, I'm going to order some PZCut. The stamps I've seen look great. I think (and pray) it will help me carve a better stamp.

See, I'm confused. When all the original posts came in for nominations, where the heck was I? Was it during a flame war and I just deleted all of them? This is the kind of stuff I like. Yeah, the site is mainly for letterboxing, but I don't talk work only to my coworkers.

Let's have some fun!

Y'all aint right :)

While we are on the subject of music. What are the words to the song from the Wizard of Oz that goes something like this, "Da da da da da da da. Da da da da da da da. If I only had a brain."

Just wondering.

Now see, if my gym teacher in junior high had done that I'd know how the rules to football.

On the first day, he was assigning positions and assigned a quarterback and a halfback and I asked about the wholeback. I was sort of serious (I think), but he kicked me out of the class. How Rude!

My least favorite class was Speech. Not only was I shy, but the class was all sophmores and I was a senior. That's hard to take.

true...normally, but at this point he really wants to get back to the island and maybe he thought that Ben would be able to tell him how to get there, and now that opportunity is lost. hmmm, Lost opportunity. ;)

Jack said he was neither friend or family...so why would he shed a tear at all?
and Kate, when Jack said to her he thought she might have gone, said why would I go to the funeral? ...making me believe this person was not well liked.
