I was just in AQ recording some finds and thought I'd peek around a bit... great idea Koshka! I've always just looked at the Boards for Montana, but a Bitterroot group makes even more sense!

I don't live in Montana - but I drive through your area a couple times a year on my way to visit my daughter in Kalispell. I hope it works out for us to meet up on one of those trips. My daughter letterboxes too, but is a busy wife and mom, so she doesn't have the time I do, now that I'm retired. Would love to see the number of letterboxers and planted boxes grow in Montana, and had even considered trying to have an event that would entice new people to come and learn what it's all about - the etiquette, using AQ, basic carving, etc.
The up-side is more boxes for me to find when I come visit! And knowing if I plant, someone will come find them (I did one near Glacier Park that has 2 finders in two years).

Definately let us all know when you are coming. It would be great to get together.

Hi there fellow boxers! Thanks for the invite. We are Great Falls boxers (a rare species), but love it...and come to the bitterroot valley to box from time to time (especially when there are a bunch of new plants to find!).

If you decided to do a mini meet or something, definitely let us know and we'll come if we can. - We typically do most of our boxing on either Labor Day weekend or Memorial Day weekend. ;o}

Hi Chelle & Chickadee - We chatted a while back (I'm the one with a daughter in Kalispell and we had planted a Glacier Lick Goat). I was there this spring and found a couple of your boxes in Kalispell. Hoping we get a chance for a "Bitterroot MeetUp" and maybe get a surge in letterboxers and plants in western Montana.

Yeah! I was hoping a few folks would respond (and that no one would feel weird that I sent out invites for a board I didn't create)!

I joined this board shortly after it was created and kept checking back to find that no one else had joined... so I thought I'd send invites to a few folks I thought might be interested. Very cool!

I was thinking of trying to put together some kind of event next summer and had talked with Simply MLE about it, but neither of us has been to one before... but I'd definitely love to take a whack at it! It would be wonderful to meet some of you and put a face to a name/stamp.

It's been a long Montana winter and we're probably all looking forward to getting back out on the trails, especially with the turn in temperatures. I just thought I'd see if anyone would be interested in a mini-meet Saturday, July 26th if I tried to put something together?

I'm thinking just a one-day event, kinda' low-key but with a few things scheduled so it's worth attending... and I'm definitely open to suggestions! And I'll probably be contacting some of you directly if you will be able to attend.... =)

I would love to be there . . . but I'm in Washington and only get there once or twice a year to see my daughter in Kalispell. I'll be visiting her in a few weeks, and probably not again until Sept. I have a traveling event box I might be able to send for your event, if it works out. Would love to see more people get involved in LB'ing around there - so few boxes in such a big state! Good luck!

Is that a good date for you? 'Cause I'm flexible.... I just figured if I never picked a date I'd never get motivated to start planning....

I have some really bad news... my mom has just been diagnosed with lung cancer, so my summer plans just completely changed. There's just no way I'm going to be able to take on trying to plan anything at this point... things are going to be one day at a time for a while.

We are sorry that it took us this loing to answer your Invite. we havent been on the Atlas Quest site since back in Sep 2013. We do alot of Letterboxing & Geocaching (most LBs are normally on Letterboxing.org) and try an do those that are outside the Missoula proper when visiting our kids or when we take the RV Camping. We plan to re-search both Atlas/Letterbox to have a list of those for our next Camping trip. And to let Ya'll know the 15 LB's listed are only those that are logged/posted on AQ. We have way more on LBnA and a few Hybrids (LB's) on Geocache. If some of you have your own LB's there are too FEW Hybrids on the Geocache site. currently there are only 2 close to Missoula. Trying to solisite LB's for induction to Geocache so that Montana has a better Hybrid selection. After pooling many Geocachers the fun of finding
a "stamp" that shows off their visit is a thrill to them. Any thoughts? Looking fwd to seeing such..

Hi everyone! I don't know what everyone has going on this summer, but I ran into Koshka and BitterrootGirl last weekend and we talked about maybe having a very casual get-together this summer... possibly over the Fourth of July...?

A little boxing... a little food... a little lively conversation...? Maybe we could even get out of control and have a theme or something? Maybe some of us could place a special box in time for it and have "the clue reveal" when we get together...?

What does everyone think?
