I really want to do a letterbox series of band logos!

First, I really like my double-stamp idea of the monster stage curtain and the Metal Thursday logo- I'm hoping to carve that this weekend. We need to figure out how to plant it though. Since I'm going to put a lot of effort into it, it should probably be an indoor box, which I'm sure they would agree to. Do we hide it inside or just have them keep it behind the bar?

Second, I would love to do a band logo series, but death metal logos are going to be VERY hard to carve and can sometimes be too generic. Let's only pick the most interesting band logos we know.

well the band logo series doesn't have to be all death metal logos! We could do any one of these: Razormaze, Revocation, Sexcrement (their newish logo), Black Pyramid, Seax, Devil In The Kitchen, Grief, Hekseri, Jaded, Meliah Rage, Panzerbastard, Olde Growth, Ramming Speed, Ravage, Bad Karma, Tyrus (old 80s power metal), Demise.

Saw this new group and just had to jump in! I'm more of an old school 70s and 80s metal guy, not that into the extreme stuff, but just wanted to show my support.

I do live sound for local bands out here in LA. For the last couple years we had this group out here from Ontario called Clepto. They came out to do a short tour and ended up staying way past their visas. They identify themselves with the DIY punk community, but don't let them fool you! They're a straight up trash metal band with some interesting middle-eastern melodies thrown in (the brothers on bass and drums are of Lebanese decent).

It's the biggest metal party of the year!

We hope to grab some more boxes along our journey; last year we found a couple of gems on our trip. Our hotel is in downtown Maryland, it looks like the nearest series is Gwynn's Falls Mills Race in a park nearby. Someday I will get around to carving a MDF stamp to share at a mini-meet in Baltimore, but we don't have the time this year to organize anything.

This board seems rather silent these days, but my mind jumped from carving death metal logos to some 90's memories - some magazine was then running "read these logos" contest in each issue (with real logos of demo bands), rewarding those who got them right and if I remember it correct, in some cases also funniest misreadings.

On my way to the show tonight at the Shrine in Los Angeles CA. My coworker was able to get
me four passes to enter. I haven't seen Motorhead since last years Motorboat cruise from Miami. I have my designated driver (my next door metal head neighbor) driving to and from the show, what could be better.
