One in Athens and one on the island of Santorini!!! Believe it or not, these will be the first boxes I've ever placed! Not bad for a starting location, huh?

I just heard about letterboxing about a week ago, and am hooked.... I hope someday that one of you finds one of these in Greece.

Oh, gosh, I wish I knew about letterboxing when I was in Greece. I'd be a bit worried about hiding a box in Athens--it's quite populated and those urban boxes are devilishly tricky to hide. I'm not familiar with Santorini, though, so I don't know what the "hiding conditions" there might be.

Greece was my first international trip. =) Lots of fun!

Quote One in Athens and one on the island of Santorini!!!

PS. Atlas Quest supports cities rather than islands, so Santorini won't be in it. Is there a town on the island that might be supported? If not, I'll go ahead and add the name of the island (so long as I can find the coordinates for the island online!), but if there's a town on the island, that's the place to list it. =)

New Letterbox in Greece

During our month-long stay in Greece we planted a letterbox. The location is Stoupa in the Mani in the Peloponnese (south of Kalamata). The clues can be found on www.letterboxing.org - "Dina's Sunset Taverna".

We sure hope someone will find this box! Our Greek friend, Dina, has a Taverna in Stoupa and we planted the letterbox at her place. It took a long time to explain to her just what it was! We think she understands but now she is waiting for someone to find it.

Hey we just saw that there is another letterbox planted near ours in Greece: "Kalamata".

So if any goes to Greece and gets to this area, there are two to find, the one I just mentioned planted by BigBoy and ours: "Dina's Sunset Taverna".

I will be going to Crete, Greece for two weeks in June, 2010. I was so excited to see that there is letterboxing to be found! I have yet to search for some boxes, but I hope they're there. If anyone has any tips for a first time Greece visitor, I'd welcome the comments!

Lucky you!! Greece was on our "to visit" list but we ran out of time (while in Denmark) and didn't make it. Enjoy, heard it was beautiful :)

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like anything is planted in Athens...but maybe you can change that!!
