Maybe restrictions were added after you saved the clue in CT?

Hi - I'm a little alias n I don't have very many finds. when I look for a box with big restrictions, atlas quest says "no letterboxes match your search." it just pretends the box doesn't exist because I don't have enough finds to see it. but I know it does.

Maybe the person could have placed restrictions in between the time that I save the clues, and found the stamps?

I'm guessing if that's the case I just will have to accept that I can't log them!

If you found the box, there is always logging an unlisted find.

Maybe later you will be able to see the real box and can delete & relog that find.

Yeah that's what I think must have happened, it's a shame I can't log them "officially" but I'll just have to keep an eye out for when I meet the requirements!

You can always try messaging the planter. They can temporarily remove the restriction (if it is in fact restricted) so that you can log it. If I were the planter in that situation, that's what I'd do.

I think the box has high restrictions on it. Try asking the owner to lower the restriction long enough to allow you to record the box. Afterwards, your recording will stay even if the owner increases the restrictions back up.

If a box has restrictions on AQ, does that box still show up in CT searches?

No, if AQ won't show a box on the website then it won't be available in Clue Tracker either.

How did you get the clue? If you don't meet the restrictions then the listing shouldn't have even come up.

The best guess is that the owner added restrictions to the box after it had already been saved into Clue Tracker's backpack.

I was adding boxes to towns in this app. Changing locations once in the app. It seems some boxes just don't appear.

Has anyone else ever had this issue?
Did you figure out a way around it?

I searched the app on each website for International falls, MN. I got one result. I search on the computer both sites I get 5 boxes.

Plus the app stopped showing my finds which it used to do by highlighting them in green.

I thought that perhaps it was because I put custom locations on all the boxes within 150 miles of home on atlas so maybe it doesn't see them anymore.

What search radius are you using for AQ boxes, and are you using the same value on the Clue Tracker app as when you're doing a search in AQ directly?

I tried the search myself using a 15-mile radius for AQ. I got three boxes using Clue Tracker for AQ and the same three boxes searching directly on AQ. I got zero boxes when I searched on LbNA, both on the site and via Clue Tracker.

That's odd. I just checked on my Clue Tracker app, and my finds are highlighted in green and have a green check mark. My plants are highlighted in blue.

When you do a search in Clue Tracker, it will use the custom locations you added in AQ.

On the Search page in Clue Tracker, which Search Options do you have checked? Is it possible that's what is making the difference?

I had another thought. On the main settings page in Clue Tracker, does it show you as being logged in to both AQ and LbNA?

I changed something on my last outing. Guess I told it to update boxes and retrieve comments. Since then it hasn't shown green, red, or blue highlights.

Thats ok as I delete the boxes or lists all the time.

I put in coords on atlas (exp. 45.456787,-95.345676) so the starting points are exact. I then searched the cities I wanted to store in the app.

Think that's why I'm having issues. I took the name of the cities out of my atlas pages. Since I'm signed in on clue tracker to my account I thought that would work.

I assumed the coords would take and be there in the app, but they are not. When comparing the website list and the app list I noticed some boxes didn't show up at all.

If I search a box # , it shows up, but not a city name search.

Just found it odd

Having Clue Tracker refresh box info and retrieve comments shouldn't have any bearing on the colored highlights. Did you check on the main Settings page of Clue Tracker to see if you're actually logged in to AQ on the app? If you're not logged in to AQ, the app won't know what boxes you've found, so it won't highlight them as green. That could also explain why you're getting fewer search results. Could be some of the boxes you're searching on have restrictions, so if you're not logged in, it will look as if you don't meet the restriction threshholds.

TrailMark and I are not sure what is going on. Here are some things to try:

a) In Clue Tracker, log out of Atlas Quest and log back in. Maybe something is confused between the app and Atlas Quest. Then search for a box that you have recorded as found and make sure it shows up with a green checkmark.

b) Make sure you can find the box that has a custom location when you search using the website (i.e., in a web browser).

c) Try searching using a city or town that is closer to a box for which you set custom coordinates. This is just a test to see if there is some Atlas Quest limitation where it does not find far away boxes that have a custom location.

Please let us know how it goes. What you are doing should work!

One more thought: Are you encountering a search limit? I think you would notice if you are, because Clue Tracker displays a yellow highlighted message at the top of the search results. The message reads "Atlas Quest returned its maximum of 250 boxes. These results may be incomplete."

I hit “share” and texted the trip to my boxing pal but it would not open for her. Does the person need to have Clue Tracker on their phone in order to share?
