Welcome! How did you learn about letterboxing? In what general area are you located? Be sure to click on the home tab and read all about letterboxing and the codes of conduct. You will learn a lot there. Happy letterboxing!

Welcome to letterboxing. There is a Florida board where you can say hi too, and then you will get an idea of who the other Florida letterboxers are. (I'm in Orlando.)

I hope it helps that I'm going to assume responsibility for it as long as we keep it within a half hour of home.
There SHOULD be tons of scout letterboxes about and it really irks me that there isn't. Abandoning things in nature is certainly not keeping with the spirit of scouts.

Hi! I am seeing this post 4 months after it was written... did you have a reply? I am also hoping to get my daughter's girl scout group onboarded... we have a mix of daisies and brownies.

As a former, long time Girl Scout leader and lifetime member, I know the importance of parent helpers in the troop. Maybe in addition to maintaining this badge box, go through the handbook and look for ideas where looking for other letterboxes could fit in. Then comb through the AQ site looking for boxes that would fit within that theme. The other thing you could help the girls with is finding a place to plant a new box that would fit into the requirements. Maybe the writing of the clues, learning about the location........ the possibilities are endless. The more boxes you find the more boxes become available due to some having finding/planting requirements.

Hello everyone. I'm a software developer, and I generally don't consider myself outdoorsy. However, I did greatly enjoy letterboxing as a child. I believe it has been about 8 years since I last did letterboxing, so I guess I'm new again (with a new account at that). I would like to get outside more often (especially since I need an escape from college lol), and I'm excited to find boxes once again!

I was quite surprised that this username wasn't taken.

Hello everyone. I'm a software developer, and I generally don't consider myself outdoorsy.

I, too, am a software developer. I'm more of a stay-at-home type of person. Without letterboxing and that other hobby (which shall not be named) I would not be getting outdoors. I am glad for these hobbies that get me out, and certainly walking and hiking, which I certainly need.

We need more getting outside.

And, welcome back to this hobby.

some of us have 3rd generation letterboxers. i have adults that letterboxed with me as children, and now their children do as well. there are a couple of grandchildren that are old enough to have their own children soon and i would imagine they will be letterboxers as well.

Welcome back! In 2018, I was a freshman in college and also used letterboxing to get off campus and outside, so I totally relate. It’s a great hobby and provides a good reason to explore new places.

Happy Trails!
