I forgot to get on here and say that I did call customer Service for my Nook not staying charged.

It was by far the easiest exchange I have ever done in my life! They first sent me a new cord in case it was that. They included the wall charger.

That did NOT work so they sent me a shipping label to return the old Nook and a new unit too.

Wow. It was VERY easy to deregister the old one before sending it and to register the new one. Zap..everything I had ever downloaded on it appeared as expected.

Amazing to this little old Granny..simply Amazing that it was such an efficient process.

At Christmas some of you may recall my son and his wife bought me a Simple Touch Nook.

Here I learned about FREE FRIDAYS and have been getting books regularly especially the free ones as well as the Library books.

When he came in this week for a visit from TX and examined mine we started talking about the books I get. He did NOT know about the Nook freebies and he had received a Nook Tablet from Santa this year as well.

He was quite surprised to learn that this was so easy and though not much interested in the book last week, downloaded it for practice.

I told him it was probably here that I learned that tip. Thanks smart letterboxers.

Yay! That made my day!

Also, that more people are getting the free books.

Remember to look in the comments for the free Friday listing. A couple of people list all sorts of other freebies.

And there is a Facebook board, Nook Books That I Find that are Free

Also, tell people they can download the nook app free onto laptops and other devices and download the freebies there.

Keep spreading the word!

Mine too! He and I discussed whether his wife would be able to do that on her Ipad...I told him I wasn't sure how but thought that it could happen. Maybe putting them on her B & N account and then downloading the app for it there and on their smart phones.

None of us do Facebook but I sure know when Free Fridays are coming. Also love getting borrowed ones from the library as well. Sooo easy thanks to another sweetie from here on AQ who told me how to do it and sent me an easier link. Library folks didn't even know how at Christmas.

You can download a free app for the ipad that let's you use it to read Nook books.Works great. We have a Nook and a new iPad.

If someone in your family has a Nook account already, use the same sign in and password as they do and you can have the same books.

And if you think you wouldn't like it maybe a grandchild would enjoy it while traveling sometime.

He (age 14) and I both reccommend THE PRISONER OF CELL 25 and its sequal that came out in August..RETURN TO ELGEN.

Exciting for the young people and thrillers too with great characters.

Yesterday the strangest thing happened when I tried to download on my B & N account from my PC.

Nothing I typed in or did would bring up the Free Friday blog to the lower left of my screen...or my husband's either.

He finally got his to work after I did mine but this time I had to go through the B & N Community.
And type in something like bn/unbound.com. VERY different than anything I had done since 12/26.

I also saw "sponsored ads" to the left column of the normal way that spelled NOK the wrong way and directed me to other places for books..I don't recall that ever being there.

Anyone else with this issue yesterday? Finally got the tech support (a most patient woman with this Granny) who got me to the right place. Whew!

She also seemed surprised I had almost 100 books on it..isn't that what its supposed to do? LOL

You can transfer books to another Kindle on you account from Amazon, under "Manage Kindle". Deleting books from your device does not delete them from your account.

When I went to the delete option it asked "if I was sure? Doing so will delete it permentaly from my acct." Now I am really confused. Then to transfer to the other Kindle I have to do each one individually. Ugh. I wish there was a number I could call and talk to someone about it.

I have the phone number at home, but I'm at work right now. I looked online and found this number:
1-866-321-8851. It is from a 2011 post. You could try it. If it doesn't work, I can post the number this evening. They are always very helpful. One lady stayed online with me for over 30 minutes trying to figure out a problem.

I get books for my Nook...LOVE MY NOOK, LOVE MY NOOK, from B & N as well as the Library.

Sometimes I don't recall if I have read something or not. My nook is a year old and about 140 books on it so I have a little difficulty with similar looking fiction.

Recently I devised a plan to help me sort them. I go into the book, somewhere near the very beginning page and highlight a word. At the bottom then there is a place I can add a note.

I can put in my own comments such as
Didn't like the author. Liked the author.
Loved the humor.
Didn't like the tense of the writing.
Too much description, swearing, etc.

When I then see that tiny little note that looks like a clipboard I can open it and know if I liked the author. Now maybe you have all discovered that but I suppose if I were a student, I could put my notes for book reports in there too!

I got a notification that "The Da Vinci Code" is free on B&N for the nook.

I checked at Amazon and it's free for the kindle, too.

If you ever wanted this book, now is the time to get it electronically.

Remember, you can always download free the app for the nook or the kindle onto your laptop, etc.

Might be written by a LBer. It refers to Speedy-Carve as "the pink stuff" and says that some argue that Speedy-Cut is too crumbly. Also talks about dying the carving block before carving for better visibility. Name appears to be Kristal Norton or at least that is a stage name.and has her pic on the 2nd to last page.

There is bonus content of 18 mages for carving. Along with a shopping list for amazon.

I would email the person who does the blog and see what he has to say.

Sorry you're having troubles!
