Does the data include boxes that have been recently found but not "checked on" specifically?? I see some on there that I know have been found recently.

Interest or objections to another box maintenance event?

Say early November 2019...called either "day of the dead" or "bring out your dead" with a temporary series with clues released only after a day of box first aid for existing boxes?
Advice/concerns most appreciated, co-host(s) very much desired, talented carvers absolutely needed. In exchange you may park at my house (3 blocks from the west gate ) and never pay to enter the park again (at least not for the walk up trail side of the park)

Yay! Pretty sure I couldn't do it with out you both. Can either of y'all think of local planters that I should contact first?
I'm pretty sure Bebo Bear is okay with it, but I haven't gotten t-rex, brew hiker, or runs for beer on board yet, and they are such prolific planters that it wouldn't make sense to do this without there consent...who am I missing?

It can be managed without consent, by controlling who is maintaining which boxes. The last time we did it, we set up lists that limited each person helping with the maintenance to boxes they had already found. That way, they knew where the boxes were (at least in general terms) and we weren't giving away any secrets.

If I'm able to drive down, I don't mind coming to help. It's a worthy endeavor and I know many appreciate the effort and motivation. I can carve too but honestly, if it's for box maintenance, you may only want to have an event box b/c otherwise it's just too much to plan coverage to coordinate for folks that haven't already found boxes. We had a load of very experienced SMP'ers and still only scratched the surface.

I guess you'll need to ask yourself the motivation. If it's just for servicing the boxes existing at the park, you really should try to have folks maintaining in areas they've found boxes for so they know what to look for and if something isn't right. If it's for finding new boxes, you could have a few locals plan a guided hike and bring maintenance supplies so that can be found and maintained but you are only focusing on smaller areas per outing. Over the years, guided hikes helped me a TON when it came to boxing at the rock.

I like the November idea? MUCH more doable considering heat and humidity. Either way, your initiative is much appreciated and I will help out if I can get there in any way you need as I'm sure many others would as well.

Awesome.
I think we have decided to plant a series (probably outside the park) and give out the clues at the end of the official event (if folks want to informal gather the next day to look for new boxes great, if not that's okay too) after a year we will post the clues for everybody who didn't get to the gathering. Defitnately still trying to figure out logistics, and I need to get to a gathering or 8 for sure.

If there are boxes you do want checked let me know, otherwise I'm likely to omit them from the checklist. (Although folks who have already found the boxes may chose to vist them them during the event)

If they are still active and not marked as retired - sure, go ahead and check on them if you want.

Brown Cow and I had planned on getting this series last week but heavy rain forced us to cancel. We still want to get these when our schedules allow. Would be fun to have a guided tour.

This is a series of mine at Tribble Mill not Stone Mtn. The trails are not blazed and you must follow the directions to stay on correct one. I was seeing about a small meet for "tour" . Out the post on "The Big Rock" because same group of folk would be doing either area. Just something informal.
