I'm signed up for this board but I don't know what differentiates a musical postal from a regular one. I checked both the help on postals and the glossary on postals.

A musical postal does not travel to a ring of people in a tracker. Instead the postals in a musical postals tracker are released and a type of race ensues. The idea is to get your musical postal to visit as many people (finds) as possible. I do not think events are allowed. The person who gets the postal is responsible to find someone else to send it to. The idea is to get it moving quickly. The postal owner needs only to get it started. The fun thing is that you don't have to be in the tracker to play. There is a start and end date.

So, opposite of musical chairs, if you have a postal on the end date you are eliminated from the game?

No. We have like 6-7 out for the players. They can go for a very long time (up to the owner) however for the game. It is first day of winter to last day of winter.

Not eliminated, it might be harder to keep it going. But that's just at the very end when most people have already gotten the postal. If I remember correctly, the owner can be contacted for help. No losers. The "winner" is the postal owner who has the postal with the most finds at the end date. For me, the fun is trying to get them all.

Good Morning Everyone! My musical postal went missing so I was wondering if everyone can please keep there eye out if they see it and please return it home. It is my Welcome To Whoville carve and I love that stamp so much! Thank you so much!

I miss music postals! I so enjoyed the creativity, reading liner notes and of course, the exposure to new music! I know that increases in postage have made it prohibitive to do this the way we did in the past, but perhaps it could be reinvented?

Here’s my idea...
- Music postal on a theme, 10-15 songs on your playlist - same as previous, but instead of burning to a CD which gets mailed around the ring, everyone would create their playlist in Spotify and share the link to the playlist in the box clue.
- Liner notes required, but again, instead of mailing, they could either be entered directly into the box clue area, or a link to a shared Google doc (this would allow for a bit more creativity and formatting than just typing onto the clue page).
- Stamp and logbook would be sent through the mail and would be similar to a micropostal - total envelope less than an ounce and under 1/4” thick, so they can be sent with just one forever stamp.

Would there be any interest in something like this or have music postals truly died?
