I love this widget. It’s sent me down many a rabbit hole myself. We do it because it’s fascinating! And in this particular case, directly relevant to you!

Why do I do these things to myself?

Because it’s fascinating finding out about your history. Feeling connected to the past is wonderful.

And I’ve been down many a rabbit hole, some silly and some with some really interesting stuff. Better than the brain turning to old people mush.
Jaywalk Safely

For years, my slogan on my AQ profile has been Jaywalk Safely. Finally the State of California has seen the logic of my view. As of yesterday, if it is safe to do so, it is now legal to jaywalk in California.

I've always thought it was safer to jaywalk than to cross the street at a corner. Cars are coming at you from only two directions vs four.
Congrats to California for figuring it out!

Unless you jaywalk at the corner, which I have seen many times.

Even being told that this is Ben Affleck, I don't recognize Ben Affleck.

All I know about him is he's not the voice of the insurance duck.

If you go outside and check out the moon tonight, you'll notice it is particularly large and bright. That's because its orbit is at its closest* to the Earth... and equally important, it is the second full moon of the month, thus it is referred to as a blue moon. Its "super" because it's close, and "blue" because it's the 2nd full moon of the month.

It will still be pretty impressive tomorrow night. The next Super Blue Moon... 2037.

We saw the moon yesterday and it looked impressive.

More orange than blue thanks to the smoky haze.

Girl at the rock show

Just wanted to share with people who won't be jelly. Or will be, who knows. I just grabbed some tickets to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers when they come down to South Florida in June. I asked some of my friends if they wanted to go, but they begged off, since tix for the lawn + chair rental + fees (damn you ticketmaster/livenation) were about $140 each. But, my cousin is going for the lawn, so I grabbed for myself and my mom. I'm stoked! I listened to the Californication album on repeat when it came out, it was such vibe when I was 13/14.

I want to get Blink 182 tickets too, but I think I'll do that next month/paycheck, and hope the ones I want are still available. The shows are about three days apart, but I've done back to back concerts before, both separate shows and festivals.

I went to several great shows this year (Jimmy Buffet (his last Florida show) Vision Video, Guns N Roses, Falling in Reverse, Avenged Sevenfold, Papa Roach, Shinedown) and I'm hoping 2024 has even more amazing shows to be had. A coworker wants to go see Stevie Nicks, so I might splurge and do that too. And, if I can get a reasonable ticket to see Taylor Swift, I'd be down to see her too, just for the spectacle of her show. We'll see.

But I'm so stoked, I just had to share! :)

Concert ticks can be expensive but the experience is something you will remember forever! After a few years, I often forget about things like a really nice (and costly) dinner at a fancy restaurant, but concert memories endure.

I saw ELO at Pine Knob in Michigan in 1976. They were one of the first live shows to use lasers. They shot a laser all around the outdoor amphitheater then reflected off a mirror to illuminate a full size hot air balloon hovering over the venue! Might seem a bit tame today, but at the time it was just awesome.
A vote for a charity

Hi all! I was wondering if you guys who have Instagram could give my friends a hand. This group: https://www.instagram.com/p/C5OnYQKL66i/?igsh=MTF2dHo3d2s2NXIwMg== is awarding micro loans to charities that get the most votes. I help out with @pennyandwildrescue and they certainly can use the money to help pay down the huge amount they have in vet bills. The girl who runs it has become a good friend, and she blows my mind at how much she does, between school, work, and the rescue. She is a better person in her early twenties than I ever was at that age. She’s helped me out with my personal rabbits more than once and goes above and beyond for the rescue’s rabbits and piggies.

So if you all could go and vote for Penny and Wild, I’d super appreciate it!
