I love Margaritas =o) There's a place near my house called Billy McHale's and they have awesome jumbo margaritas that are 1/2 price at happy hour =o) I also like Tequila Sunrises. What's in a Wallerbedarn???

Crock Pot Still

Anybody out there ever tried building a crock pot still? I'd just like to build a still in general, and when I lived down south I probably could have gotten away with it (if it weren't for those meddling baptists and their dog), but now that I'm back in northern suburbia I might have to scale things down. Thanks for any info.

I've never tried to make or use one before, but here's a site with info on how to make one: http://www.ehow.com/how_4700131_crock-pot-still.html?ref=fuel&utm_source=yahoo&utm_medium=ssp&utm_campaign=yssp_art
I hope that helps a bit =o)

Thanks! Back in 2002 I'd been looking to do some homebrewing. Went out to the local store to price some stuff. Literally the next day found out we were having a baby. The brew room became a nursery. It was all worth the trade-off but I thought it was time to give things another try. And even though I'm suburban now I'm in a neighborhood that would really appreciate the idea of home distilling.

Right on =o) I'm glad I could help a bit. Let me know how it works if you try it, I might be interested in trying it too if it works well and isn't too expensive =o)

This might belong in the wine group....not sure...

Was at a book group meeting where we read a French book (Count of Monte Cristo and no, I didn't even crack the spine!). But the DRINK was great - glasses of champagne with a shot of St. Germaine. It's an Elderflower Liqueur.

Anyone else a fan? I looked up recipes and will be trying one w/gin, st. germain and muddled lemon and cucumber....dunno about that one, but there is gin!

I just tasted some tonight, at a liquor store, and bought a bottle. Kind of expensive, but I LOVE it!

So my roommates decided to make a really weird sounding, but delicious drink last night. They put half and half, a bit of milk, some vodka, kalua (sp?), vanilla ice cream, and (this is the weird part) apple crumb muffins in the blender and made a smoothie out of it. Yes, they put muffins in the blender. It sounds gross, but the muffins made it taste soooooo good! We got the muffins from costco, they're apple muffins with a crumb topping and caramel drizzled on top. I don't know what possesed them to put muffins and alcohol in the blender, but I'm glad they did! Seriously, you should try this at home =O)

I normally don't read series books but I picked up Dead Witch Walking and was hooked. Anyway, the main character gets a dead man's fload sometimes. It's ice cream with Baily's over it. I tried it on a whim and it's pretty good. I like it with coffee flavored ice cream.
