It's still a funny concept, though. It's really just a matter of time, anyway... message boards are slower paced (most of the time) and require thinking. In all, probably closer to what an actual hermit does! Talks to himself for way too long:

("Yes, I KNOW I have to replace a lost, wild stamp...but this LTC looks soo interesting, should I join it too? Yeah, maybe... but I could do that while I'm considering the concept behind the card... nooooo, I'm not going to actually be able to stick to my schedule in getting out that box series, bu the weather is starting to turn anyway ...
** ding dong signals an entrance into the chat room**... Oh hi! where you from? ** waiting for the other person to type and hit return, continues with previous converstion with self
- Yes, I think I can hunt for those boxes during hunting season... I'll just wear bright orange... maybe I can borrow that dear stand I saw, carve my stamp for that wild, lost box... HEY! I wonder if a speedball could take down a deer?
** WOW! You're from California? and you're from Pennsylvania? ** hits return cause the statement is already too long ** I just love meeting people from all over the country!**
No... probably shouldn't borrow that deer stand in Ohio... I voted for the other guy... they might shoot me anyway... HEY! I wonder if I should make a virtual about that?...")

And a bunch of wild tupperware hunters calling themselves hermits... what a hoot!
I for one, love it!

Now, what do hermits do after they join? I know... we lurk and wait for someone else to join! LOL

That's what they do. ;-)

And they think.

And they quote others.
"I guess I'll have to find a cave and hermitize myself." -- Ernest T. Bass

And it's okay if some time goes by between posts while they think, right?

I guess I belong in this group. I am a homeschooling mom who also cares for a disabled father...so I spend most of my time in the house. my dd calls me "Gilbert's Greatest Hermit", so I know that right here is where I belong.

Welcome,

Perhaps we should all have pen names in addition to our trail names. This could get interesting. ;-)

alone except for the people who live in my house with me... though I had to argue to make it possible for my teen to stay here for the holiday... but yes, essentially alone, just the way I like it.

Hee hee! Does this mean we'll be the only group actually on the boards? Everybody else will be off celebrating with family and we'll be here having hermit chat? ;-)

if there is a career as a hermit, I don't know about it..... Surely I would have run into it, because I say to everyone...... If I could get paid for being a hermit, I'd do it!!!

Double solitaire is played like regular solitaire, but you play on each other's aces.

It must be played in person, hermit friend. *smile*

Do hermits come out of their hidy holes for the first day of spring?
I'm betting there are different "species"... kind of like those that hibernate only during the off-letterboxng months and those who would rather just mostly carve and ever little once in a while box on a trail that they know nobody would ever be on... and maybe there are those who must get out on the first day of spring just to make sure the world goes on wihtout them?

this hermit gets migraines at the turn of the seasons, so I'm more likely to be boxing on any other day than on the first day of spring. bright sunlight is one of my triggers. give me two weeks and I'll be back on the trails again.

Oh, I just love intentional oxymorons.

Fellow hermits, I created this group thinking that it was possible to add a chat room in addition to a board. Sadly, I was wrong.

But, I have discovered a new avenue for the same. ;-)

What do you think?
