Just what we need, another housing development. How ironic that some of our letterboxes originally placed on public land will now reside in somebody's backyard.

Box of the Month!

Hey fellow Texans!

I’m excited to be planting a Box of the Month here in Austin! A box will be planted for 3 weeks and then will be retired moving onto a different state. A new box will arrive for the next month and will be planted in the same location. Boxes will be visiting from CO, CT, FL, IN, ME, MI, NY, PA, TN, and WA. This is a great opportunity to log some finds by out-of-state boxers!
Here is the first box

Happy boxing!

South DFW Letterboxers

I'm new to Letterboxing and I've noticed that a lot of the LBs in my area are not active or haven't been found in years. My 10-year-old daughter and I have struck out about as often as we've found any.

I want to help build the LB community in my area, but do not know where to start.
I've thought about hosting a class at a library, but as I'm inexperienced, I'm hesitant.
I'm looking for suggestions or advice?

We will be visiting for a few days in May and want to make the most of our time there. Any recommendations on places to stay that would be convenient to the River Walk, Alamo, other site seeing/eatery places. Can use Uber if not to far out. Any suggestions on any local hidden gem’s would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Hi! Here are some of my faves convenient to your location:
The Pearl
Menger Hotel Bar
La Villita
Mission Trail esp San Jose and Espada
Japanese Tea Garden
Botanical Garden
McNay Art Museum

I also have (had?) a box at Torchy's Tacos by the Quarry. I've moved away and haven't had a hit on it in a while. But there are quite a few boxes in and around SA.

Enjoy your visit!

Hi! Sorry it took me ages to reply, I have been ill. The one I think you'd have the easiest time finding is one around the corner from Torchy's Tacos, Box # 301324 - A Wild Brushfire has Appeared.
Enjoy your trip!

Hi Silver Eagle and Baby Bear! Another great TALE is in the history books. I cannot wait to see where the next one will be.

TALE is truly one of my favorite annual events. Thanks to you both for your stalwart leadership in keeping this tradition going year after year!

I liked looking at the poster board with the attendees’ sig stamps. I spotted some postal friends, and Leenancytanney’s new sig stamp. Our loss (sob sob) is your gain :)

The photo of “Old baldy” made me laugh! Looks like a marvelous time was had by all. Thanks for sharing the photos!

Yes it has. BTW, I went to River Ranch Park the other day to finish finding most of the boxes and placed a new one (Eclipse Over TX). Since you live close I thought I would let you know in case you still need to go out there to find other ones.
