Some of you locals may have some boxes ready to plant. You may have been procrastinating. You may have been waiting to get to it. You may be deciding where you want to plant them. I am here to say that Cosby is an option. 😁

Truth be told, I have just 7️⃣ traditional finds left to reach my next thousand. Since it would be neat if the guys and I could accomplish that by the end of the year, I figured that I would mention it. You know...just in case you have some boxes ready to plant. 😉

Hi. (My apologies that this is somewhat off-topic.) One of my kids is relocating for work to the Chattanooga area. Does anyone here have suggestions for areas to look for apartments or areas to avoid?

On the positive side, I am excited to now have the opportunity to do more letterboxing in Tennessee. 😀

I’m nowhere near Chattanooga. But excited that you might be in the same state! And maybe make a track out to west TN?

No promises at this point. How far west? I know that parts of northern Michigan are 12+ hours of driving from me. Still, it’s much more likely. 😀

I’m near Memphis. So the complete opposite side of the state! But nothing like 12 hours away. I can get to FL in 12 hours! LOL

I lived in Chattanooga for 10 years...we lived in Hixson...north of Chattanooga with easy access to the mountains, trails. But it is more residential. Getting around Chattanooga can be challenging, so a lot may depend on the area where he will be working.

Thanks! Work location is northeast of Chattanooga. One of her co-workers from TN suggested looking in Hixson and Tyner. Any specific apartment complexes to consider or avoid? (Or management companies)

I also prefer clues that are more of a challenge. I enjoy trying to figure out the clues. That's kind of the most fun part of it for us. Don't get me wrong...we find the letter boxes that have specific directions to where they are and I will always love to have more stamps and finds in my logbook but its just more fun for us when its not just an easy grab and go.
We quite enjoy it when the clue makes us really think it out and find hidden meanings. We get to see what tricky wording, pig Latin or other coded clues people think up. We've learned ciphers we didn't know before. That part is all so much fun. I try to always do that with mine and folks seem to enjoy it too.

There are many boxes in Knoxville. These boxes are not grab and go but require some walking. Not sure if these might be what you have in mind.

Hi. Yes I'm searching for and finding many boxes in my area. My post was about getting more people in my area interested in letterboxing. There are so many boxes around here and hardly anybody is looking for them. I found one not long ago that had been out for months and I was the first one to find. I just need to find a time and venue to talk about letter boxing and get more people interested here. Thank you.

I would recommend scoping out the local library. Most have an activity room that they'll let you use, or somewhere you could put something up about it. Also a pavilion in a park may be a good place to consider.

My husband is a third generation fish boil master, however, since the stroke he is unable to handle that type of work. When was the last time you were here? Do you ever return???

Hi, anyone interested in a low-key, outdoor, socially distanced meet-up to stamp the U-haul series (my event stamp series)? Hubby and I still wear masks, because I had a recent kidney transplant.

I am planning a trip (dates uncertain) and thought it would be fun to let the U-haul series hit the road, much like a U-haul truck does.

I’m in! Excited!!!

We hope the transplant kidney works well.
The U-haul series that DS brought to the Arizona gathering a few years back, amazed us for its quality and quantity.

And, thanks, I like that so many different people contributed to make it such a variety of styles. Also, I enjoyed that trip to AZ and the event. I'm planning a trip back next year.
