New Personal Traveler
Board: State: Maryland

Thread Board (disabled)
Hello, I am new to Atlas Quest's "Boards," so I don't know how they work, but I just wanted to share that, for people in/near Frederick County, I have a new Personal Traveler that I am hoping somebody will find! Kind of a puzzle to get it, but I don't think it's TOO hard, if you use your resources. Link to get to it is here: https://www.atlasquest.com/showinfo.php?boxId=308122

Best of luck if you do make an attempt to get it, hopefully this is the right place to share!?

Figuring out the puzzle won't be as hard as YOU figuring out how to get out to Iowa and meet me so I can get your personal traveler ;~)

It's only available for people who can come get it in Frederick. While it is a personal traveler, it does have a clue, and technically a plant location. Sorry! Besides, yeah, don't have a way to get to Iowa! LOL!

I might be able to get down to Frederick with a large carton. 🤫 You’d have to pay the shipping, though.

Don’t worry, I’ll poke air holes in it

I don't think I'll be looking for it any time soon since I'm in a different state, but I think people always LOVE a new box, or several! People seem to be pretty open-minded about subject matter, so I say go with what makes you happy and don't worry about it.

Good luck and have fun!!

Always good with new plants...regardless of theme. Plants have been rather rare around here lately.

The New Market Community Park sounds good to me, but I'll go wherever you plant....within reason.

This indoor box has been unavailable due to COVID restrictions. If you’ve not had a chance to log it, I’m bringing it outside for some fresh air for one day, Sunday July 19, from noon until 4:30 p.m. I’ll be working in the sales tent off the patio where you can request it. There may be a brief wait in line for wine/cheese/(letterbox) service, so please wear a facial covering on the property, observe safe personal distancing, and wash those hands! There may be a soon-to-be retired WOM box as a bonus. Also...live music starts at 2 pm, awesome Mexican food truck, and the wine is delish, but no purchase necessary. Hope to see you! ~tempus fugit~

Most popular letterboxing areas in MD?

Hey, MD letterboxers! I was just wondering what spots in Maryland (or nearby), where you find that the more letterboxers seem to reside.

Hey there, I'm not sure where folks "reside" exactly (never actually met another letterboxer IRL), but my partner and I found enough boxes in central Maryland to keep us occupied for a while. (Anne Arundel County) I believe Baltimore has a fair number too, but haven't made it up that way yet. Southern Maryland unfortunately does not seem to have many boxes, which is a shame IMO because there are some beautiful areas down there.

I went to college in Southern Maryland and yeah - it really is a shame there aren't more boxes down there because that area is gorgeous. I live in the Baltimore area and while there are some great boxes up here, I get the feeling that it's popularity as a letterboxing spot has died down. I was surprised to check the Maryland board and see that there were so many old threads about Baltimore. I was actually asking this question because there's a set of boxes I'm really excited about and I wasn't sure about placing them in Baltimore City or Baltimore County because I haven't been getting finders here.

Heading to DE to visit my daughter and am camping in Tuckahoe State Park where I don't see a single box.
Does Maryland allow stamps to be planted in their state parks?

My daughter lives in Clayton.
Annnd she just created her AQ account!!!
She’s known about my Lbox proclivities from over the years but never expressed any interest.
Since I’m camping in Tuckahoe State Park I thought that would be a good place to get her launched.

Does anyone live near or know anyone who lives near Deep Creek Lake? We need someone who is willing to go on a nice 20 minute hike, appropriate for kids, and take a picture for us. This is for a treasure hunt we're working on.

If you're up for a little adventure, send me a message and I'll give you the details.

Thanks.

Hello, I'm going to try on this thread in hopes I can find someone
I have a stamp that is extremely important to me that I will be planting in Cambridge, MD. I'm hoping I can find a boxer in the area that could periodically check on this stamp for me

Is there anyone in the area that I could talk to about this?

I finally re-carved and planted the missing Emerald City stamp in my Follow the Yellow Brick Road series (https://www.atlasquest.com/showinfo.php?boxId=265664). I re-found the Cowardly Lion, checked on all the boxes in this series, and updated the clues.
