Truman went to a very sweet older gentleman. The cat cafe where Amy originally got Truman posted on their social media, and got the two of them introduced. He even has his own sunroom where he can watch outside! Truman is FIV positive, so he has to be an only cat. Lots of people wanted him, but most of us already had a pet or two, and Truman is absolutely a one-pet household kinda guy. :)

Hoping all the boxers in the area of the fires are safe. Hard to watch the news this morning without thinking of our AQ family there.

I am wondering and hoping also - that Gypsy Fiddler, Woodshed, Porras Posse, Tigerlilly, and anyone else in that area will check in and tell us they are okay, as soon as they can when the smoke clears (literally). 🙏🏻

The fires got so huge and loved so fast. They were saying on the news that some people had just minutes to get out. And that if there was snow it wouldn’t have gone like this. It’s horrible.

Our son said the wind was crazy strong, over 100mph. They evacuated within a few miles of them. They said they were hoping the winter storm warning would materialize. They were basically up all night in case they had to leave.

I'm sure they'll chime in but they live south of the Denver area and the fires are in Boulder county, northwest of Denver but smoke is probably impacting them.

We are doing fine, but I wish I could say the same for the thousands of people 50 miles away in Louisville and Superior-communities north of Denver and in Boulder County-whose homes have been lost, damaged, or whose power & gas have been cut off due to the fires, followed by a foot of snow and temps dropping below zero.😭
Woodshed, Tigerlilly, Porras Posse, Seekers Two, Tai Chi and Chai Tea, and myself are all out of range of that area and are safe. We are hopeful and prayerful that any boxers up in or closer to the Marshall fire are also safe and in good care♥️
Please keep these communities in your prayers.

Thank you for letting us know. That fire was so fast and overwhelming, the devastation is hard to comprehend. 🥺

991 homes lost, 126 damaged....scores without power and/or gas. Businesses were damaged as well-Costco and Target as well as others.
Wanna plant some boxes?

Hi there,
I love the CO community so much. Fla was a great group of people and I have found nothing less than that here in CO. I carve so much more than I plant. I have probably 40 boxes, made and ready to plant. Stamp, container, log book, zip locks all included. The majority of the stamps are Musical figures, portraits. Everything from the Beatles to Kurt Cobain ect.

Im looking for some boxers (you) that get out on the trail much more than I do and get these boxes to your area. Just let me know how few or how many you were looking for. They can be planted in a series or just singles, up to you. Its better than all those hours of carving sitting in a cardboard box. I will pay all postage getting them to you. Just let me know if something like this interests you and we'll make it happen. Thanks in advance

In Colorado for the week and will have some time for a few quick boxes now and then. Would be appreciative for any advice on great boxes that are indoor, driveby or a short stroll. Staying in Colorado Springs, Estes Park area, and Aurora/Denver. Loving the weather so far. Same temperature just without all the humidity! Thank y'all in advance. IrishRef

If you search 430 S Quebec St in Denver, you will find Fairmount Cemetery. There are a bunch of letterboxes there and it is fairly close to Aurora.

I hope you enjoy your stay!

Yes, I second the idea about Fairmount Cemetery! ALso, there are tons of boxes in Colorado Springs, and Fairview Cemetery and Evergreen Cemetery are good places to start! Look up boxes by the Woodshed and Johnsosaurus....I think they have cornered the market on plants in that area. Also, don't be shy to poke any of us out here in CO for a meet-up; maybe one of us would be free to take you around!
Help requested planting carves in Colorado

Just got back from a vacation through Colorado. Have been inspired to carve a series of college mascots and would like volunteers to plant them. I can provide financial help if needed to offset costs. If you are willing to plant any of the following you can respond on this board or reply in AQmail.

Mostly looking at schools playing football and would of course include the three most people across the country know of: Colorado U, Colorado St and the Air Force Academy.

I also have an interest in D2 schools having graduated from Fairmont State in WV and have followed Shepherd from the eastern panhandle who have made the NCAA final four three years in the last 12 years including last year. Both Shepherd and Colorado Mines (Golden, CO) lost in the semi-finals last season. So I propose to carve the football mascots of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference mostly Colorado schools.

Adams St - Alamosa
Co. Mesa - Grand Junction
Co. Mines - Golden
Co. Pueblo - Pueblo
Fort Lewis - Durango
Western Co. - Gunnison
Other non Colorado schools will be offered to those in their states but open to anyone:
Black Hills - Spearfish, SD
Chadron St - Chadron, NE
SD Mines - Rapid City, SD
NM Highlands - Las Vegas, NM
Other Non Football RMAC schools will also be carved if there is interest:
Co Christian - Lakewood
Metro St Denver - Denver
Regis - Denver
U Co/Colorado Springs - Colorado Springs
Other Westminster - Salt Lake City

Also willing to carve
Northern Co - Greeley
U of Denver

Looking forward to crisp fall afternoons and the return of the Backyard Brawl (WVU-Pitt). Off to listen to a John Denver combo or Rocky Mountain High and Country Roads!

Thank you for reading and considering the request.

Co. Mesa - Grand Junction

I know there use to be one in GJ but it may have been muggled...I'm not certain. But I can probably plant one in GJ.

Western Co. - Gunnison

I can certainly plant one in Gunni.

U Co/Colorado Springs - Colorado Springs

I already have one planted on the UCCS campus :)

Awesome. I will send you Fort Lewis for when carved. Any preference on size of stamps based on how you like to plant? Please send me your mailing address via AQmail.

Were there any other towns you would consider planting from the list?

I am visiting Denver June 12-June 16. Are there any letterboxes near the Hyatt Regency near the Colorado Convention Center? Does any one want to meet while I'm there? I'll definitely plant an LB while there.

Looking forward to it?

Wish I could meet you there! I don’t know about the Hyatt Regency or Convention Center but there are lots at two large cemeteries. I’d look them up my in my log book if I could. I’ve been there twice for two afternoons and haven’t even come close to getting them all! Good luck, Denver is a fun city!
