Funny thing, I just did an advance search by location and mistyped Bermuda as Bermoda and came up with some hits in Bermuda. Then I went back and typed Bermuda correctly and came up with nothing. It was searching in Bermuda, AL.

If you're using a location-based search (which sounds like that's what you were doing), it will try to match places like cities. If you want all boxes within a country, you'll have to use the area-based search. Try this link instead.

Let us know when you go. Many years ago, Sue & I heard about this beach with tons of sea glass. It's been driving Sue crazy to go there.
Guess where we went the first day we hit the pink shores of Bermuda??
Yup!
The name of the sea glass beach is Alexandra Battery. You have to take a taxi from downtown St. Georges to get there. Well worth an hour of your time. We ended up with a quart sized zip lock bag full of the stuff.

Oh what? Just one zip lock bag????? We came home with THREE! BTW.... did you find the sea glass cave? If you go around to the "westish" side of the battery, and follow the coast for a few feet, you will come to a cave with BIG pieces of sea glass in it.....

Missing Boxes
Board: Country: Bermuda

Spent a boxing weekend in Bermuda two weeks ago. Sad to find many of the boxes are missing or destroyed. Out of 15 attempts only 4 were still there. Hope to get back in a few months to try for the rest.

On another note: Iwas there with The Quackers and Astrii and we all planted new boxes on the island. We hope they last through tourist season.
Either way it was great fun and Bermudaful island.

I can't wait to find them someday! I used to vacation there each year, but haven't been back in quite some time. My husband has never been, so it's at the top of our list for a getaway...may as well may it a letterboxing getaway!

Oh bummer. Some of them sounded sooo cool! I remember the spot where the Grotto Bay box was...of course not last time I was there, but I remember the place well.
4 out of 15, wow. :-(

That is a shame. I was there a couple of years ago, coincidently at the same time as the Letterboxing Cruise. So there were lots of freshly-planted boxes all over the island and I managed to find every one I looked for. Some of the hides were in fairly exposed locations, so it's not surprising that they've gone missing since then.

I will be in Bermuda in early September. Can anyone tell me if there is any good places to plant near where the cruise ships come in? Or anywhere else nearby.
I am planning on planting a box.
Thanks

Cruise ships can dock at either end of Bermuda, so that doesn't really narrow things down any. =) I'm also not sure what you're definition of a "good place" to plant would be. You can hide letterboxes in almost any conditions if they're small and clever enough. Most of Bermuda is pretty well developed, though, so you'll probably have to go with an urban planting strategy--especially near the cruise ship docks. But that's not to say you can't parks or small undeveloped areas to hide a box either.

You can take the shuttle around the island. Check out Horseshoe Beach on the southern end. It's one of the most spectacular beaches in the world! We had a fun box there, but it eventually went missing:

Feel free to plant something in this area if it looks nice enough! ;o)
