I will be in Norway June 30-July 13, and hope to pick up the two boxes I see listed. We are in Oslo for short week, then driving west to Alesund and Molde. What should I be aware of? Any other boxes besides Tananger (listed on LBNA) and Norwegian Independence? Are these boxes active? What else do I need to know about letterboxing in Norway.

Also, I would like to plant a box in honor of our family reunion taking place. Any restrictions or etiquette I should know about.

I have traveled to Bergen and Oslo, Norway! Norway is beautiful. I went in the spring but it was still snowing with a few warmer days! The people are very American friendly, so that helps out a lot! Have lots of fun!

Just looked up the data on the Norway boards. There are only 3 messages (now 4). The first was posted Nov. 1, 2004 by GT and then ours posted today. You may not get much of a response. But have fun getting those boxes and PLANT away!

Are you going through Denmark? I have a box in Roskilde, which is a very cool place, it has the Cathedral of Roskilde where 1000 years of Danish royals are intered (also a World Heritage Site), and the Viking Musuem with 5 1000 year old Viking ships on display.

Wow! What a wonderful trip we had to Norway. From Oslo to Alesund to Molde, and points in between. Great weather, unbelievable scenery, and connections with relatives still living on farmsteads where great-grandparents came from in 1880's. Three generations caravaning across Norway in 8 vehicles (36 people ages 3 to 62 in all) from New Jersey, California, Texas, Georgia, Illinois, and India!!!!
And I planted a box. Check out Vigeland Viking on Atlas Quest. Had all my grandkids stamp in before we planted it, so the log book has been primed!
Sure wanted to find Norwegain Independence, but didn't have time in schedule. Next time...

Congrat son your overseas plant!!!!!!! that's another letterboxing dream I've always wanted to accomplish. I almost did in Ireland, but quite frankly there was too much drinking for that to happen. Maybe next time.
