I cannot figure out how to access the LBs in Baja California and areas around the Sea of Cortez. Can anyone help me?

At the moment, Atlas Quest only has 3 letterboxes listed in Mexico. 1 in the Yucatan and 2 between Guadalajara and Mexico City, sorry we couldn't be more help.
If you hide any boxes in Baja while you are there, be sure to list them!

I'm picturing a box on fire. :) Encender is to light something on fire. Encendido can mean to have something lit on fire, but it is also slang for being excited.

We're heading back to Puerto Vallarta next spring and I'm shocked (SHOCKED, I tell you!) that there aren't more boxes there. We'll leave one or two there while we're there, but I'm really surprised that Mexico isn't more densely populated with boxes. I know lots of people go there on vacation...

Anyone going between now and next March? Heh? Planning on leaving anything behind? Heh??? Hint, hint, hint....

I know someone that just went on a cruise I am thinking may have been to Puerto Vallarta. I know she did leave a letterbox but don't know if she's put the clues up yet or not. Will start an investigation right away to see if this is where they stopped....

We are headed here in a few weeks and wanted to know if anyone knows of any unlisted boxes (or alternatively listed ones) down there.

TIA!

I'm new to this, but wasn't able to find either box here in Mazatlan. The lighthouse had construction going on however.

How do you find the 'unlisted' ones?

2nd Centennial Oaxaca Letterbox Event

The 1st Centennial Oaxaca Letterbox event was a smashing success. Enough so that we are beginning planning the 2nd Centennial for March 7, 2108. Start saving your pennies and pesos to get you there.

The 1st Centennial was attended directly by Archaeobirder, Chapuline, LitChick, oldhounder, and Siamese. Indirect support came from Lundy and Vickster, zess the treehuggers, and Kilroy, all of whom carved stamps and helped create boxes. The spiritual presence of Rubaduc, Chapuline's sister, could be felt throughout our time together. She would have been particularly welcome if she could have gotten her body there.

We're back from vacation and are two boxes lighter for it! Just to let anyone know that's heading there that we planted 2, but they may be tricky to get since they're on a private resort. If you're interested, email me before you go and I can give you a solid plan for getting onto the resort if you're not a guest.

We went to Tulum in February, and were happy to find 2 letterboxes during our trip - one at the Cenote Manatee and one at the ruins at Coba. One at Akumal Bay was missing. There is lots of room for more boxes, because there are so many special places there, but we were too busy exploring and relaxing to plant any ourselves. If we go again, I can come prepared to plant!

Check out the Guachimontones, only about an hour from Guadalajara. Newly excavated ROUND step pyramids. Very cool, just Google it. We left a box there in 2008, still no finders/attempts. Who will be the first finder?

FYI, We recently went to Cabo San Lucas and struck out on all three boxes listed in town at the Giggling Marlin, Cabo Wabo (we found the heads but they didn't have anything in them) and El Squid Roe (I think the bathrooms have changed, they were not as described we looked in both men's and women's). =(
New boxes in Puerto Vallarta as of February 2023

Hola Letterboxers!
I visit Puerto Vallarta every January, and up until now I know of only 1 box that has survived. I think it's because every nook and cranny of outdoor space in PV gets sweeped, painted or power washed at least once per year.

My goal is to plant a box that will last at least 1 year in PV.

To do that I decided to plant inside businesses that I have visited, and make the boxes as unintrusive to the businesses as I could.

I talked to both businesses and got their approval to plant.

I planted them both during my trip at the being of February 2023.

Please enjoy them and make sure to log your finds.
