I want that job! Where can I apply?

I work as an Administrative Assistant at a Home Health/Hospice Company. I used to be all alone at first, then they built the Hospice facility. Now I sit at a front desk looking all receptionist like. I can't wear my holey sweats anymore, darn it. And I have to not be reading AQ after someone dies because it's not good to snort and laugh when the family is nearby :(

As a second job my DH and I do plant maintenance in our offices (some people call that a janitor :) I used to say I would never clean toilets for a living. Funny how life comes back to bite you! My motto is: Never say never, cuz ya just might have to!

You get paid for that? Where do I sign up? I'm a stay home mom with three kids and the youngest is 4 months. She just started to be mobile. Now the real FUN begins. My other 2 kids are 11 and 6 and off at school.(All you homeschoolers, all the power to you. I love sending my kids off to school.)

I don't know, I think that on my bad days Shoebee would disagree. Most days I get up at like 3 or 4 with the baby and then stay up and do 'chores'(lunches, clothes, coffee, dishes, breakfast, floor pick-up of all rooms (only 4) and then when shoebee goes to work and the lb brat goes to school and miss jacinda takes a nap, then I hit aq. But some days I'm tired and don't do nothing and those are the days when shoebee has the biggest flock of birds. The house is a mess, you don't do nothing, why are you this and that and on and on . So You probably aren't the worst, just when your husband notices. Me too. :)

I sell parts for road pavers. I never thought a tree hugger like me would be helping to build roads, but I love the small family owned company that I work for, and I don't hate my job. Hey, even hybrid cars need smooth asphalt to run on, right?

I used to work in a building full of offices, and one of them "did lunch" - they were like professional restuarant reviewers. I never did figure out how they got paid for that (there were two people in the office). The lady was always dressed to the nines, and drove a fancy car with a vanity plate that said something like "DINE'N'OUT". Maybe they published a local magazine and their pay was the advertisements or something - it's been a while (2 kids ago ;-)) so I've sorta forgotten.

At the time, I was a litigation paralegal. Now I have two kids and teach preschool - and I'm much more sane ;-)) Well, at least I take fewer pills..... (just kidding!!! Or am I....??)

Are you sure? Is there a contest or something?
'Cause I think I've got the lock on that title ;)
We should have a reality show contest, with the winner getting free maid service for life.

Amazing - Dixie and I are living parallel lives ;-)) old house, no closets, piles of stuff...... except these days the yard looks pretty bad - Hubby's Border Collie collection has pretty much trashed it. Of course, my 20 lb Boston Terrier is completely innocent of any yard trashing.... ;-))

Middle school science teacher at a little catholic school while I work on my certification for public school. Working with kids is exhausting, but a great way to get stories...just this year I've had a kid accidentally break a window while trying to squash a wasp, another who uses 'pickles' as a swear word, and another who likes to talk in the third person!

I'm currently a Mathematics major, planning to be a high school math teacher. Previously (I'm 35) I was a machinist at a sign shop for 4 years, I spent several years prior to that as a drummer in a punk rock band (yes, professionally) / part time production assistant for commercials and such. I was also a cash register repairman for 3 years (great perks), among other things.

After getting my BS in Mathematics, I would like to get my Masters in Education (specific emphasis on Gifted and Talented) or in Library Science.

Oh . . . HEY . . . another math person . . . HOWDY! I taught high school math for 5 years. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. I am now happily teaching at a community college and putting in my 25 hours a week (8 weeks on/2 weeks off with summers off and Decembers off). Yeah, I'm considered full time.

Boy, did I get behind on this board

What do I do for a living? I'm a personalization artist...I write people's names on Christmas ornaments
Sorta like calligraphy, different method

Since I married my husband, my diet has been mainly Moroccan/ Mediterrean. A little bit of meat, with lots of veggies piled on top. We eat quite a bit of fish and chicken. Red meat is a rare treat.
I will not eat organ meat though. Liver....ick

But I have learned to try different things. I had to do this while visiting my husband's family.
I've only had one or two bad culinary experiences. (Yes, you told me how well your Mom spices it. No, sorry, I'm not going to try it)

Over the years, I think my favorite new food to try has been sushi....drool.....yum....pass the wasabi
