I just wanted to pop in and say hello. *waving* The Wolf Family invited us to visit the North Carolina Message Board during some recent correspondence involving the Night of the Living Dead event next month in Salisbury. We've never traveled this far for a letterboxing event, so it's a little bit intimidating and overwhelming, but she and The Seekers have been very helpful and have made us feel very welcome. It will be me and my 14 year old twin sons flying in from New Mexico, and we're very excited, especially when we discovered the theme involved Zombies and is happening in the Carolinas! We lived in Rock Hill, SC for 7 years while my husband worked at the Charlotte Airport, but moved back to New Mexico about 5 years ago.

If you'd like a little taste of what New Mexico looks like, you can see my photo of the Santuario de Chimayo church on the High Road to Taos, I shot while searching for a letterbox last Fall. We only live an hour and half south of there. I am honored that Ryan chose my photo for the month of April in the 2012 Atlas Quest Calendar! Whoohoo!

Looking forward to meeting some of you next month :)

TT,

Not sure if you know what you've got yourself into "running with" this NC crowd...and running with the Wolf nonetheless...

Many out there would say, "run away, run away!"...these folks are freaks.

Good freaks, but freaks nonetheless. (Zombie) freaks are very good about making you feel welcome...once the hook is set, you can't get away. I've been here for 4 years thanks to that damn Wolf, The Seekers, The Fox, Dix, Knit, and the list goes on.

Good luck, TT. You'll need it

And, oh, he has tried to get away. Yep, started in NC then moved clear to OR and then to VA. But we STILL claim him as OURS. *nodding*

Am I the only one who took that as a compliment ?? Normal is SOOOO overrated !!

It's not that you can't..... it's that you won't WANT TO !!!!

Thanks X !!

What!? we are suppose to want to get away... I didn't read that in the script... darn it...Yes I took it as a compliment even though I haven't met him yet. Hey as long as you go slower than I can run away from you we are good... How come in Zombie movies the zombies move soooo slow and yet eat so many people? Why don't we just out run them or out drive them?

Well, it's because they are really hard to stop. They just keep coming and oftentimes have overwhelming numbers. Also, the humans they are pursuing aren't necessarily particularly intelligent (zombies aren't finicky when it comes to brains).

But here is a very educational video that shows all these points from Shaun of the Dead:

You mean it wasn't a compliment? What? Hmmm... I'm confused. I thought it was only an insult if "bless your heart" followed it. lol

Saying hello to all my freaky friends. Bless your hearts. :-D

my daughter has a shirt fron Threadless that mentions the finer points of avoiding zombie putrification as well. it involves getting to high ground, aiming for the head, and sacrificing the blonde, i believe . . . i haven't read the shirt in a while, she took it to England with her. . .
