I'd say, contact the owner and ask them if they want the full logbook returned. And whether or not you can put a suitable logbook in with the HH to have it continue it's journey.

Most people who release a HH never see it again. I've only released a handful and have no expectation of ever seeing the logbooks. I think of them as just extra fun for finders of boxes, and want them to enjoy reading about its travels. I always enjoy finding them and seeing where they've been, then I send them along on their journey.

- Someone contacts you when they have the full logbook and makes arrangement to mail the logbook to you
- Someone scans or photographs the pages and emails you the images or what I do - put the images on a password protected blog page and give the owner the password.
You probably want to put a note on the back page of the HH's logbook letting people know you'd like the logbook back when it's full. But as mentioned, the chances you'll see the logbook again is slim. However, just last week I found a letterbox with one of my own HHs in it. It's been travelling since May 2007. I photographed the pages with the camera on my cell phone.
