Any recommendations for a relatively inexpensive, casual place to have dinner in Tallahassee on Monday night?

I love the wings, burgers and sanwiches at Hobbit Hoagies on W. Pensacola (very close to FSU). The Mellow Mushroom, also on W. Pensacola (closer to the stadium), has VERY good pizza and other Itallian type dishes, with very interesting decor. If you want to meet for an exchange, let me know, we are pretty close to FSU. I'll e-mail you a few LB suggestions.

Those sound right up our alley.

I'm afraid to commit to an exchange, because we'll be attending orientation, and I don't know how busy they'll keep us, or what the exact schedule is yet. With The Boy attending FSU, though, I imagine we'll be there again . . . starting when we drop him off for real next month!

Cabo's is great, too, and just on the other side of the Capitol from FSU.

Another favorite is Clusters & Hops ( http://www.winencheese.com/ ) but for lunch ($), not dinner ($$$). They're not open for lunch on Mondays, but if you're in town some other day it's definitely worth checking out. It's pretty tricky to get into the parking lot if you're not familiar with Tallahassee (it's right where Thomasville Rd. branches off from N. Monroe St., in the same small and oddly slanted parking lot with Sleep Gallery), but if you can make your way in there, the food is really good.

Even better is Angelette's Cajun Kitchen, but it's not open on M or T, and only for breakfast and lunch W-Sun. The food is AMAZING, though, and definitely worth the 15 minute drive from FSU and the possibility of a short wait to be seated. Don't be fooled by the unimposing location (strip mall next to a Publix and a tanning salon) - it's locally owned and the food is just spectacular. I highly recommend the Eggs a la Duane, but everything on the menu is a win.

Enjoy!

We just ate there last Thurs, I had the shrimp po boy (for the second time), it was awesome! We've gotten there @ 11:30 both times and the place fills up quick, especially with so many more state building going up out there.

They are open for dinner on Tues nights, we've never gone for dinner though.

We went to the Mellow Mushroom one night, and to Momo's for lunch another day. Going back again this month, so maybe we'll get to try another place or two.
