Has anyone ever gone to Blaine Kern's Halloween parade? Is anyone going this year?

I'd go...but it's kind of a drive from TN.

LOL. It might be worth it. Blaine Kern is the master of the Mardi Gras floats. His company makes such beautiful ones. I'm hoping to go see what he does with Halloween.

Yes, we went last year. Very fun! It's not very long, they throw Halloween themed beads and candy and the kids LOVED it. We watched it from the French Market as it came down S. Peters. Are you planning on coming in for it? Maybe we could meet up?

I'm trying to talk my husband into it. The kids would love it. :)

Do you dress up to go to the parade? I'm getting the image that living in LA is like being at Disney World.

LOL At times, it can be. I've never been to the Halloween parade, it's pretty new, but I suspect that some people do.

I've seen photos... It looks very...busy.

Sorry I didn't respond to this sooner. DH is out of town and for most of this week it wasn't definite that he'd be back here this weekend. I think we'll be going to the parade. He seemed to think it sounded like fun.

OH YEA, people sure do get dressed up. Costumes are pretty impressive. Any excuse for a party here!

The parade was tons of fun. People really got dressed up for it. DH had been kind of iffy about going but he had so much fun. It reminded him of what Mardi Gras was like when he was a kid.

Cutest thing in the parade: shetland pony with black wings
Scariest thing in the parade: guy walking near the front of the parade, who was dressed as some sort of demonic monster
Coolest thing: a group riding horses and they were done up as devils/demons/vampires. Sveral of the horses were draft horses. Some of the costumes were eerily spectacular; one woman had weird contacts and her face was made up and she had wings. One person carried a horse skull. So, you had this group coming at you from out of the dark on these big, tall horses with wings and skulls . It looked like something from a fantasy novel.

I agree, where are there photos of that horse bunch?
