It was a beautiful -bang!- sunrise this morning, accompanied - bang!- by the sounds of gunshots. Just a friendly reminder that hunting (mourning dove and squirrel) season opened today with the start of the new month. If you're planning on boxing in a hunting-friendly area (like the Delaware Wildlife Area), please be careful! While stealth is important for LBing, being visible is important for your safety!

I'm so glad that you posted this. We were going to take Paul boxing next week in that very area. We'll have to think about that with the way our luck goes. PTea

I haven't heard a single shot since this morning. Really, we don't hear many until much later in the season. Maybe they got bored, maybe they limited out. In any case, I would still go, but I'd wear bright colors and leave small squirrel-like dogs at home.

I guess we need to hurry then before deer season starts! And I'll need to borrow that flame orange hat again... ;)
