Ok, so I know this topic has been posted before, but the replies seemed to be mostly about using your printer. I'm trying to stamp onto vellum, but the ink seems to come out watery. I've tried black StazOn and a Stampin' Up black. Perhaps I need to use a pigment ink? Haven't tried that yet. What has worked for all of you? I saw someone mentioned that they use Architects vellum and Colorbox ink. The vellum I've used is The Write Stuff which I bought at Michael's.

The Brilliance Dew Drops work well for me for stamping on vellum. They are fast drying pigment ink.

Any ink will take some time to dry on vellum. I used my heat gun for embossing and ran it over the ink and it dried instantly! You could probably get away with using a blowdryer to dry the ink as well.

I did this. I used pigment ink (Brilliance I think) and dried the image with my hairdryer on low. Worked fine.

Thank you to everyone for the helpful advice. Sounds like I just need to use pigment ink. I'm going to go out and buy the Brilliance brand.

OceanWytch,
We are the ones that posted about Architect's vellum and colorbox ink. The first image here, WYSIWYG, is 5 layers on vellum. Each layer was printed on a seperate sheet of vellum and then layered on top of each other. We had no spearing problems.

I think they meant "smearing". :)

Esmerelda,
Just so everyone knows.....the SPEARS are for the cats and occasional hawks.....but the SMEARING is in reference to our ink on vellum.....although the spears could be used to help hold the vellum in place....hmmmmmmm.

I'm working on some cards right now that have a vellum overlay. The ink I used is VersaMagic multi-surface chalk ink. It's an opaque pigment based ink that dries a lot faster than the Colorbox ink. I got it at JoAnn's.
