Sooooooo....... I just took the Myers Briggs personality inventory for work....(but, you can do it for free at http://www.mypersonality.info/)...and it occurred to me that this totally explains my letterboxing tendencies among other things. :)
For instance, I got so excited about LTCs. I had so many ideas. Bought books and tons of stuff from Hobby Lobby to the point they were like "Didn't you use that coupon yesterday?". Went crazy designing several at one time. Talked so much about it that my husband looked at me with blanks stares. Then freaked out when I had to mass produce them. I hated it! If I hadn't been committed to swaps, I would have never finished them. Even then, I struggled. I felt like I was being suffocated.
Then, I had this great idea for a big box series and even convinced a fellow local boxer to help me with it. (It's 10+ boxes) I've been working on it since January. :)
Have any of you taken it? Does it fit with your personality??
I'm Extroverted iNtuitive Thinking Perceiving.
Hummmmmmm............... So if any of you out there ask me to do something for you and I get all excited about it then stress out to the point of not doing it....this is now my excuse. :)

I learned a while back I'm an INTJ. I never thought much about it, but after some research I find there is some truth to it, and it explains a lot about me. The best thing that came from learning this about me is learning how to use this information to do my job better and to understand why others don't understand me. I've found some amusing websites that illustrate my personality type. Here's one ...

I had to take a "teacher's inventory" that was similiar to Myers Brigg. I was dominant in the Sensing Thinker & Sensing Feeling area. That means that I'm very logical, organized, hands-on and am very social and helpful. I guess that's why I like to go to gatherings! Yes, I thought it fit me pretty well. This test showed my approach to teaching and how it may differ from the students' learning style. I found it very interesting.

I took that test, gosh, maybe 15 years ago. I can't remember exactly what my type was then, but I seem to recall that the words "Invertabrate" and "Pervert" showed up somewhere in my results.

I think it's fascinating! I feel like it's pretty accurate in describing me. Most of what I do is generate ideas and I thrive on it. I'm outgoing and an use my intuition in about everything. But, I do have hard time following through if it is a long term thing. I tend to hate any thing routine. And I love to argue, just to argue. ;) I am for sure a non-conformist and enjoy outwitting the system and using rules and regulations within the system to win the game. I think like that in everything I do. I wonder what my director will think... LOL!
LOL!!!!!
Like I said..... I think it's pretty accurate. :)p

I've done the Myers-Briggs several times at different job positions. Speedsquare, you aren't alone-- I'm an INTJ as well and that description is also me. I've always found that when I do these things at work I am BY FAR in the minority. Oftentimes, I'm completely alone. I've also read that it typically takes about a year to get to know an INTJ and most people aren't going to hang with that for as long as it takes.
If you've ever done the DISC, I'm a "D" with "C" as a secondary.
I'm not an easy person to get along with but I get things done and do them well.

I have taken the Myers-Briggs several times over the last 2 decades. Supposedly your type doesn't change but mine did - showing I am more in the middle on the last two areas and can adapt to the situation. As a freshman in college, I was an ENFP. After 4 years, as a senior I was an ENTP [I participated in some study about the Myers-Briggs in college]. After working in corporate America (as an actuary) for 3 years, my results were ENTJ. In a leadership course I took a few years ago, I was an ENTJ still...the 10 years in my job really affected my personality! So I am definitely EN...the rest depends on the situation and which strength is needed, I guess. I can really relate to the ENTP description - much more fun to come up with the ideas and figure out how to do something than actually doing it!!

Cool! Seems I'm an INFP...I would have been an ENFP several years ago, but have grown more introverted in the past few years.
After reading the description of the personality type, it fits pretty well.

I took the test and am the same as I was when I took it 10 years ago. I'm an ISTJ Protector.
It fits, thats for sure. When I bought the book I had everyone I know take the test and it was right on for all of them. My husband is the same as my dad (don't remember what now).milagro

Well, the test claims I am an ISTP "The Craftsman". I think it is wrong. Here is why:
Uh, that is so completely the opposite of me! I have fear. Great wagonloads of fear. I see no need to jump out of a perfectly good airplane or go speeding down the road on a two-wheeled vehicle that could tip over and go careening out of control at any second! ;) Those things scare me, and I don't like to be scared so I'm never gonna do 'em.

Well, I don't know if there's some free mini version of the DISC on the internet. I did it in an Organizational Behavior class and then again at a work retreat. I took the copy from class home and did it on my 3 sons. Interestingly, we are all quite different. I'm the "D" (Dominant one that runs the family). My oldest son is also a "D" (his personality is just like mine). Then my middle child is the "I" (extremely social, people-oriented little guy-- I've been cheating off of him for identifying people at events since he was in kindergarten-- he NEVER forgets a face or name). Then my husband and the youngest child is the "S" (team oriented, friendly, stable, content to do the same stuff). I've never done it on my mother but if she isn't the stereotypic "high C" I don't know who is-- that woman packs everything in the freakin' house for a one day trip just to make sure that she has covered every detail of what possibly could happen.
I must confess that whenever doing one of these group tests, I'm always inclined to get rid of all the "I" people (which is always the majority) since they are so busy wasting time socializing that nothing seems to ever move ahead. My little "I" type son has been the biggest challenge to me, but over the years I have learned to appreciate the things that he has that I lack.

INFP: "The Dreamer"
"They will find great satisfaction if they encourage and develop their artistic abilities.... Simply the act of "creating" will be a fulfilling source of renewal and refreshment to the INFP."
Hmmm, knitting, cross-stitch, scrapbooking, photography, letterboxing... I'm seeing a pattern emerge here. It's also no wonder my favorite part of planting boxes is the actual image carving itself.
