I've noticed for a long time that the drop down Stampeaz info page under Marketplace in the AQ menu bar is very old and out of date. I know from experience to ignore that first page that comes up because some of the stuff listed for sale on that page aren’t valid. I autopilot click the actual Stampeaz website link at the top of the page to place my orders. Not a big deal, right? Hmmm...

I really noticed it when Webfoot posted a while back that she had a new supply of Staedtlers. Newer members went straight to that first info page to buy them, only to get a ‘product not found’ message. I personally sent private messages to the members to redirect them to the right place.

In the grand scheme of things, this is minor. BUT misdirection and frustration by newer members may result - which is never good. On the trails? Frustration is a given (sometimes). On the AQ website? Shouldn’t happen. Perhaps an update of that page is in order?

I have the same problem finding products. I finally had to type in Japanese to find the carving material I wanted. I have a hard time finding it every time.

I customized My Page to link directly to the correct Stampeaz homepage and I no longer access via the AQ Marketplace. Maybe that will be an option for you. It's not difficult to customize your options in the pull-down menus.

That’s the whole point - we are all conditioned to do a work around because it doesn’t work!

Maybe the simplest way to fix it would be to eliminate the first page that comes up under Marketplace and replace it with the direct link to Stampeaz.com.

No heavy coding necessary (I think) and eliminates misdirection and frustration - win win!

And *poof* just like that, the link to the first erroneous Stampeaz info page is gone!

But now there is no reference or link to Stampeaz at all anywhere anymore on AQ, unless I am missing something obvious (which I very well may be with my visual disability)

Long way around the barn but got there. May be a more direct way found by others.

Thank you. I finally got through by pulling up her profile and her site is a link there. I just don't understand why it is no longer on the Marketplace page.

And poof like that... I'll never remember to order anything. Love having it under the Marketplace, because it was simple and I had no problem ordering what I wanted.

It's easy to bookmark for yourself.

I removed it because the marketplace was supposed to include links that helped support AQ with commissions and such and Stampeaz hasn't for years. There's nothing really in it for AQ so it's kind of misrepresented by being in that list.

I respectfully disagree. The service that Stampeaz has provided to AQ letterboxers over the years by formulating and refining carving materials is immense. There is likely next to no one in the community who hasn't used Webfoot's materials to produce the thousands of letterboxes listed on AQ. Her work supports the hobby overall, which in turn, draws in new people and promotes memberships in AQ, all of which grow and benefit the site, whether or not you get a direct "commission" from her sales. I think she has earned, and deserves, a link under marketplace.
