I read Kirbert's review of Translucent 2"x2" squares. If I remember correctly, they were okay to carve but didn't hold a transfer well at all.

Has anyone tried these?

The first one looks like cork to me. I think the other two are different sizes of the same "sandwich" material that was being posted about quite a while back. I don't remember the pros or cons of carving these.

It does to me too. Even though the full title of the listing is:

10pcs Softwood Square Rubber Carving Blocks Rubber Stamps for DIY Materials

It has "Rubber" twice in the title. It comes from China so it may be a translation issue. I'll ask and let you (plural) know what answer I get.

I found another listing by a different seller: 10pcs Softwood Square Rubber Stamp Carving Blocks for DIY Stamps Printing. In the description section under "Specification:" it says, "Material: Softwood". However, in the same section under "Package includes:" it says "10 Pieces Rubber Blocks".

I asked for clarification on what it is. I think that it will end up being cork, or something like it.

The relevant (and body) of the reply is:

Thanks for your interest. Regarding your enquiry, we have checked that this item is made of softwood and rubber.

Curious. Being different materials would probably make it difficult to carve. I may try it, just to see what it is like. If I do, I will report on my result.

I just grabbed some. I'll let y'all know when I get it and how it works out. I'm not very hopeful, it looks like it wouldn't carve smoothly, let alone print a clear image. And how the heck am I gonna transfer on to that??

I got it today, and it's exactly what it looks like. It's like compressed rubber bits that look and feel like cork. I have no faith in any of my transfer methods. Maybe the parchment paper method might work, but I doubt it will take a gouge cleanly.
