Having been a teenager or so when the TV version of this book came out, I was familiar with the story line. Bullied kids from different backgrounds come together and well, piece together the town's evil history and stand together to face IT. This version starts in 1988. I will mention that I feel like they over advertised it and was concerned that they showed most of it's best parts.

With the exception of Finn Wolfhard, I don't recognize any of the children. But if you are a Stranger Things fan, you will recognize Mike when you see him.

On to the Kitty Paws:

One Kitty Paws because Finn Wolfhard is absolutely great and has the best damn line ever!
One Kitty Paw because the film is good.
One Kitty Paw because it had some scenes that new and fresh.
Two Kitty Paw because it had it scary moments and they were good.

But . . . and I hate to do this . . . but I have to take away a half a Kitty Paw away because I really felt the parts with Eddie Kaspbrak's mother, Sonia, were awful. She looked awful. She acted awful. Her costume looked unbalanced and did not appear to fit her well.

And One Full Kitty Paw because there were some serious editing issues.

This leaves the movie with 3.5 Kitty Paws.

So, if you are in the mood for a great re-make, with some minor issues, but great scary moments, then consider this your next movie.
