Letterboxing Research Project- HELP

Ok guys, I need your help with my research project! As a graduation requirement, I had to choose a semester long Capstone project. Since I'm a psych major who is interested in working in eldercare, I thought I would research the benefits and challenges of letterboxing for older adults. I've spent many hours composing this survey about letterboxing and I would invite any boxer over the age of 55 to please complete it for me! It would help me out so much! And if you could pass the link along to anyone who you know is a letterboxer over the age of 55 I would owe you forever. Thanks!

http://bit.ly/1gS5nf9

Also, I could use any feedback you have about the survey, since I've never designed one before. And I will give you free LTCs for participating if you would like.

THANK YOU SO MUCH

The survey will probably take 10-15 minutes, so prepare for that before you start. Thanks everyone.

Hubby and I share our trailname - I finished the survey. Would you like him to add a "2" after our trailname if he decides to do the survey also?

I took it-that was fun, but scary thinking of myself as an 'elder'.

I did it and had fun doing it. Also I qualify cause I'm older than dirt.

I wondered why there were no questions for those that may not be able to get out and box due to physical limitations (or did I miss that clue?). Letterboxing does provide some options for those individuals.

I did it and I'd love some of your LTCs! I also sent a link to some of the locals who may not see your posting. Good luck. I too feel weird that I am an elder! I guess I never looked at myself that way- thanks Epicus....

Yes, that's fine. The trailname isn't that important, I just wanted to be able to thank everyone who participated.

Don't think of yourself as "elder" yet! 55 is NOT old! I'm just trying to get a variety of responses from people in all stages of mid to late life. If I limited my survey to those who were actually elderly I'm just not sure how many responses I would get.

According to a class I am taking:
65 = official definition of old age
65-74 = young old
75-84 = old
85+ = oldest old

So 55 isn't really old at all!

I did ask whether anyone has a disability or disease that has affected their ability to letterbox, because that is something that I have to address in my paper. I agree that there are definitely are still options in letterboxing for people with physical limitations. So maybe someone who has experienced a difficulty with an aspect of letterboxing will answer and explain how that has affected them.

See, that's the worst thing about being old. I forget so easily. Now that you mention it I definitely remember that question. Now if I could just remember why I'm typing this response. Oh well!

I must be a bit slow... It took me just a bit longer then I think it should have. Had to go back through it a few times to get it right, well, as right as I could. Good luck with the results on the survey.

Done. Good questions!
And now I'm learning who else is 55+ by their comments on this thread. I'm really surprised; I expect other letterboxers to be much younger!

Survey done. Good luck with your project. With so many 'qualified' participants' you are sure get a great grade. Good fortune to you on your graduation and future plans. See you on the trails.

Good luck with your project! :-)

P.S. I do like the LTCs people have given me.

Sorry I never sent an update, but I received an A on this project and graduated from Assumption College summa cum laude, thanks to all of you who took the time to complete my survey. I know I promised everyone LTCs, and I plan on making good on that promise, but as many of you know I got engaged to boblovesmusic. The wedding is next month. There has been no time to make, like, 80 LTCs. During the long, cold winter I will get to work crafting and contact everyone who contributed to my project. Again, thank you sooo much.

On another note, I'm still accepting stamps for my wedding. There will only be a handful of regular letterboxers there, but I'm going to try to get all the guests involved. The stamps will be planted permanently elsewhere. The wedding is September 21, so stamps are due early September, if anyone is interested in joining. I probably won't be doing the actual planting until the week before the wedding, though, because I took that week off from work. http://www.atlasquest.com/showinfo.html?gTrackerId=7698

Wow - congratulations on the summa - and best wishes for your wedding.
I’m most interested in the results of your research. Maybe you could summarize it (at some point in the future) and let us all know.

As you can imagine, I found a decent amount of research backing up my claim that letterboxing can improve the health and happiness of aging adults. We all knew that!
