I am not sharing the credit for Dick's. Dina the Birthday Girl can have ALL the credit for that.

His brothers used it as an opportunity to elevator troll him by running down the steps and pushing all the buttons so he was forced to stop on each floor for no one.

They better watch their backs. He's going t get sweet revenge one day

What a busy holiday weekend we had.

Belated HAPPY TURKEY DAY all. It sounds like everyone had an INTERESTING time.

Charlie and I enjoyed a visit over to Rhonda and Jack's (daughter & son in law in Kentucky) for the holiday weekend.... including my Birthday, which was Saturday. The day could only have been better if we were at DICKS LAST RESORT celebrating with THE WOLF FAMILY. *lol*.
I love that place. Charlie has never been .... but I am taking him there over Christmas week. When Rhonda and I went several years ago she said "Mama ... you giggled the whole time we were in there"... and my reply was "Wellllllllllll... it was FUNNY the whole time we were there!"....

Of course, upon returning home, we learned of Safari Man's passing, so it kind of put a damper on our celebratory moods.....
one of our friends here in town lost his Mama on Thanksgiving day too.... so sad.
Each person we spend time with enhances our lives in some way. I believe Glenn inspired us all to LAUGH more and make anything a GOOD TIME !! For that, I am Thankful !!

LOVIN THE PINK SAFARI THEME !!!

Dina B.
(B for Believe taking credit for DICKS is only fitting, in light of my above statement about Glenn's inspiration. *lol*... don't you think ??)

It's been one heck of a weekend for the tragedy!
My boss unexpected passed and was buried on 11/30 which was the same day that Safari Man passed. It was a weekend of reflection.

And then I got to work today and found out one of my employees (a hard working single mother of 6 children) had her dog poisoned (he survived but is now blind and has seizures) and her windows all busted out and her house broken into.

Do we not have enough crap that life dumps on us without dumping it on each other too?

Wow. that's awful, Wolfie. what are people doing to each other?

it was really a weekend for icky things. i was really sad about Safari Man. Then, had friends of friends involved in both the events in Worcester, and outside of NYC.

Is Mercury in retrograde again or something? is there something up with the planets that some evil spirit is out there??

Yeah, this weekend was pretty rough. I had a couple of friends whose elderly parents fell and broke bones; couple more with deaths in the family. Then I saw the news about Safari Man.

Dang. :-(

I was really bummed out.

Maybe we need to find a place in Fort Mill or Rock Hill on Sat. evening for some hot chocolate and holiday lights or something if people are still in town for the "non-event". But it's kind of short notice and I don't really know the area.

ok, here's some options:

there's a Starbucks in Fort Mill, and a Dunkin Donuts in Rock Hill. Both are open until 9 on Saturday.

There's a place called Captain Steve's in Fort Mill that looks pretty reasonable for dinner (if we like basic seafoods, deep fried, and some burger options) that also serves hot chocolate.

There are several places which serve hot chocolate that are also bakeries, including one which one the Cupcake Wars on Food Network (? i need to watch more tv) but it closes early and i myself will not be attending as i have some serious hiking to do.

It gets dark early and the greenway closes. Ya gotta come out of the woods at some point! :)

Am I out of the loop? That event is still going on, right?

Not really. The event was technically cancelled but RDHG left the listing up in case people wanted to contact each other off the list and go 'boxing that day anyway. Some people are.

Oh =(
A few weeks ago, I realized only one exam is after the event. So, I was contemplating on attending, but it was still leaning toward unlikely.

OMG!! That looks INCREDIBLE!!! But it does close at 7pm on Sat and has a note that they sell out some times. Also, I have no idea how much seating the place has. So probably not practical but oh, does that look YUMMY!!!!!!!!

out of the woods? Are you forgetting how close to Georgia i live?? they have trained me well.

and that would be the place i found (cupcrazed). it does look amazing - they have gluten free ones, too. That's an awful lot o' frosting on those suckers, though. . .

i wonder if they have bacon. . .

I saw that! But probably not egg free. That egg allergy seems to kill off the good bake goods like nothing else!

I noticed that the cupcake place is right near the Starbucks! Perhaps we could get to the cupcake place before it closes and then take it to go over to Starbucks. Of course, that would be about 6:30 which is dinner time. So I'm not being particularly practical again -- I'm thinking cupcakes and cocoa for dinner! LOL!!!

That sounds like a VERY good plan to me! Oh dear, too far away for me. Sigh. I will be decorating a mansion that day.

Wellllll... not that we publicly discuss... or are supposed to... but...

One night when the kids were younger, I got home from work and was just tired. There was nothing much in the house to eat, I wasn't running out to get more so I got creative: I dumped cereal, pretzels, and doritos in a bowl (or some such mix) and declared it SNACK SALAD for dinner!! LOL!!!

The youngest cub sung this to the tune of the Lucky Charms commercial: It's sarcastically nutritious!

it would be common in our household if we could find ingredients that any of us could EAT. . .

"Junk Dinner" in our house usually revolves around cereal/oatmeal and pancakes.

When Rhonda was home, occasionally we would have SUNDAE DINNER on a random weeknight.
I would get several ice creams.... toppings....garnishes.... whatever.....
and we'd make giant sundaes for dinner.
Thank Goodness Ice cream and fixins is kind of pricey, or it may have been more often than OCCASIONALLY ......
*lol*
