Board: T-shirts! Patches! Paraphernalia!

If anyone needs ideas for attaching path tags to a bag or backpack, I found that Velcro works very well! It lets you put them in the right direction even if the hole is on the bottom of the tag. I put some pictures on my blog:

Clever idea, Open Space!
My friends and I attach path tags to our backpacks with keyrings, which we hang from the holes in the zipper pulls.

I've done that too, but if you put more than one on the keyring they rub together and wear off the finish :-( I've also tried gluing them to findings to turn them into hat pins but they tend to fall off or break off from the pins.

Yes they do wear, especially those with gold, copper or black plating. It gives them character! I carry a few and they are showing wear but how it goes when your carry around the little treasures!

Painting over the surface with clear nail polish might help slow down the wear

I was just going to say that. LOL.
This also works to protect your skin if you are allergic to nickel and would like to wear costume jewelry.

I use coated-wire keychains to attach the pathtags to my letterboxing pack. AND, place each pathtag in its own clear plastic coin capsule to protect it. When the capsules become overly scratched it's simple to just replace that and the tag will sustain in perpetuity.

and where do you get these plastic coin capsules? Maybe you could stock a few of them for us?
I was thinking of coating my pathtags with a couple of coats of clear nail polish. Anyone tried that? Pathtags is sort of a new thing for most of us.

I think they also sell something similar at Hobby Lobby.

The Air Tite coin capsules that I got were from eBay. They are made for the U.S. Quarter size.

I drill the holes to match the pathtags with a Dremel.
