I’m hoping someone is home planting boxes. I’m away in Virginia adding to their count. It would be great to come home to some new boxes to find.

I planted one in Hyattsville on Sunday. :)

I use the app Lipix on my phone. I can create one photo with several pictures in the photo, up to sixteen, I believe. TeachJR clued me in on that app.

That was a reserved box of something else I never planted, I just changed and updated everything else after I planted today.

AQ doesn't know that. I'd just delete it and relist if you want it to count. The state counts aren't that important in the grand scheme of things, but it will still count towards the total stats.

And I stopped looking for reasons why your box wouldn't be counted when I saw it had restrictions. I didn't dig into the details of your box enough to realize that they weren't being counted for two different reasons!

But yes, boxes that you started to list more than a week early aren't eligible as well.

If I'm driving in the car, my tablet is plugged into a charger plugged into the cig lighter. It's the only way to maintain enough charge for those times I'm out of the car.

If you're leaving the car and are concerned about getting back to it, there's a way that uses a bit less juice. While you're at the car, bring up any good mapping app (my choice is MAPS.ME) and mark the location of the car with a bookmark. Then you can actually turn the phone off if you want to save battery power. When you decide you're hopelessly lost, fire it back up and it'll show you where your car is. It won't provide a safe route to get there, but at least you'll know which direction to go.

It's ok. I started over. Seems to be working now. It's my first time participating in PAL Day...learning curve.

Just got home from seeing SOLO and just loved it. How much better can PAL day get. You list some boxes then go to the movies. If you're a Star Wars fan you'll love this one and the eye candy is great. Who doesn't love a tall hairy man!!!!

hmm, I activated one in Massachusetts yesterday that isn't showing in the state count.

Is that because I *created* it a few months ago, but only activated yesterday?

Check On A Letterbox Day. A day to get out and check on and maintain the letterboxes already planted. Unfortunately it can’t be done in one day and I’ve got boxes at Squantz Pond, Kettletown and everyone has something at Sleeping Giant. Still a day put aside to maintain boxes would be a good reminder to look after boxes after storms.

It’s almost impossible for me to check my own boxes as I leave them in my wake as I travel this beautiful country we live in. I do carry a large repair kit though, and rehab found boxes as needed. Since I got to Jackson, WY, I’ve had to work on almost every box I found.
