Hey, that calls for a series! At Four Corners you could plant a 4-box series that catches all four states, and at every other "triple point" (there are LOTS of those!) a 3-box series could be planted that catches all three states. There could be an entire series of these series.

Heck, one of those triple points isn't far from me -- although there is a body of water involved, so you'd have to be driving to get all three.

Anybody have any good idea what stamp images would be appropriate for such a series? Little outlines of the state map?

Heck, I'll be in the vicinity of two or three more triple points on my trip starting next week. No time left to carve stamps for those, though.

We are lifetime premium members and were when we listed the finds originally. We have found boxes in all 50 states. The stats show 50: 48 states, DC, and mystery. We would love to have the correct total reflected. We are hoping to finish placing in all 50 states this next week, and hope those stats will show as well. It is just a personal satisfaction issue.

Ontario is out of the 20 minute comfort zone, just like the sparcely planted area around me. (But that gives me ideas for next Sunday...)

Six years is a good long time to stay in a hobby. You've left a wonderful impression wherever you've gone or planted. And you can always find the occasional box on vacation... as well as new boxes will come up in your area, that you will just HAVE to find.

If you have any random stamps to get rid of....

Send them way?

Thanks for the good wishes everyone. :) It's been pouring here...I'm kind of waiting for our house to float away, but I got to get some carving done, and play with some ideas for new boxes and look at some books on book making, so it was a good day.

It is more than 2x as pricey as OZ cut or Speedball, with shipping. Not in my budget unless it is for sellable artwork.

So sorry to hear about calling it quits. Have, (with pleasure) found your series in Ithaca, and looked forward to them each year. Feeling as you do, at times, I have started looking into doing more gatherings instead. Of course being retired it is easier for me to do.

Whatever you do, enjoy.

You could do the outlines, but then you'd get duplicate images. What you could do is three different things (one in each box) that the three states have in common. This would (in theory) give different items for each three-state combination.

Little outlines of the state map?

Yes!

Stamps of each state in the shape of the state so you can stamp them all together on one page to create the four or three corners.

That would be cool!

Looks like you need to go back to those states and find a box listed on AQ so your stats will show all 50 states. Road Trip!

It was my idea to use triangulation for the clue. I thought the people at the gathering should get a taste (as sour as it may be) of a common "historic" method of writing clues... quite British you know. Its always been a pain to find locations with it. Sorry for the inconvenience ;-)

The last time I went tent camping, there
were bears in the area. Each tent site had a
tall pole. There was a hook on the end. You
could hang food and supplies from this to keep
critters out. Does this camp have anything like
this? Or should I bring some rope for a tree stash?
I won't have much at the site. I hope to have
some granola bars, etc. But even with the wrappers,
I'm afraid of something sniffing it out.
What's your experience?

We have a contestant list already!! Apparently the producers decided that since the race started from Times Square, a VERY public location, they would just go ahead and post the list of names before people started to put together lists on their own. You can see the list here. It includes Bethany Hamilton, the surfer who lost her arm to a shark at age 13, and two former Survivor: South Pacific contestants, Whitney Duncan and Keith Tollefson, who are now engaged to each other.
