If there's not one there already, that spot cries out for a box. Or maybe a series of three, with one in each state!

I am aghast of the possibilities if this were to occur at the four corners.....

It is a neat thing to complicate. However, it is Indian land; Navajo, I think. You'd need special permission to plant anywhere near. I know that they at least monitor geocaching activity. (I think that there is a geocache placed, with permission.)

And as someone specified in another message, you'd have to attach it to the actual marker to get the triple-point, or quadruple-point in the Four Corners case.

Kudos to Cherokee Rose, judithandsparky, Artemis, Eidolon, TRex, and figureeight for a fantastic event at Unicoi State Park. Great boxes from carvers all over the USA, absolutely gorgeous trails, fun company, a delicious potluck, and a super-cute little mascot to boot! This event had it all & then some. Thanks so much for all of your hard work--it was a great way to decompress after a tough school year and get my head back together. Sorry to everyone I missed exchanging or boxing with--I just needed the solitude of the woods for a while, and once again nature worked its magic. What a wonderful start to the summer boxing season!

Had a very enjoyable time in Tipp City/Troy/St. Paris today? It has been way to long since I've been out due to health issues, and it felt great, even tho TMD had to do most of the fetching. Such lovely cemeteries and talented carves! I promise to record all with notes soon as I can, but wanted to let everyone know boxes in that area are in need of TLC! Suspect the winter was a bit challenging.....

Many were found open and soaked. Dried and replaced bags on as many as we could, as well as salvaged logs. Many camo pouches were split at the zipper. Also, stamps were quite "goopy" with ink. Lots of bushes had been significantly trimmed or even removed so boxes were missing

If anyone plans on visiting soon, maintenance supplies including replacement logbooks would be helpful. Lots of great stamps to find!

Totally stressful endeavor but SO worth it. Even my gps was out of sorts and refused to talk to us the entire trip.

It is a wonderful campground with lots of impressive stamps..even the weather was great today. Thank you all for some fun over the border.

I totally missed this on Facebook. Thanks for posting it here. What a combination of terrible and wonderful news for her. Perhaps the new baby will provide a much needed counterpoint to the sadness that the family must be experiencing right now.

As opposed to just falling off the planet I'd figure I'd make a public announcement After one week just short of 6 years of boxing I'm throwing in the towel. Reasons being is there's nowhere to plant in area , not many boxes left to find in area , finding that I'm (we're) doing other things with our spare time. In the last year or so all I've been really doing is carving / donating stamps without much finding/ planting anyhow. Boxing was a passion for a long run but have decided to move on. Thanks for all the boxing relationships I've built over the years , the neat places I've been taken to, the fun places I've taken you to, to allow me to donate my stamps, fun gatherings , and the laughs and fun on the boards. I've taken a 9 month hiatus once before but think I've run my course this time. Thanks again everyone.

This little one is her first grandson......she ADORES her granddaughter......my prayers are hopes that the love and joy of her remaining family carry her through what has to be her worst nightmare. Dbare never got to meet her, but I know her husband was to her, what my beloved old bare has always been to me......her loss is staggering and I can only pray the joy of her children and grandkids will see her through with God's love and help.

What Amanda said - the community is better because of your contributions, and you will definitely be missed!! May you find much fun and happiness in whatever's next!!

You can log the Stampeaz receipt as a find under "other". That means it doesn't count towards your find count, which is proper because you didn't actually have to go find it, it just showed up in your mailbox!

Why do you like sweetlove?

SLQ carves like butter. I chose those words deliberately because the closest thing I've carved to it was probably MasterCarve, back in the day when MasterCarve was still available and touted that it carves like butter. SLQ is actually more solid-feeling than MC was; MC really felt like you shouldn't bump it or a piece might come off. SLQ feels kinda like halfway between MC and pink stuff.

How does it work with gauges?

Works great with gouges, I dunno about gauges.

Do you have to sand it?

I know some of you sand to make sure the surface is flat while others sand so it'll take ink. In the case of SLQ, there's no worries about taking ink; it takes ink 100% better than any other material I have used, pink stuff, MasterCarve, PZ Kut, anything. With SLQ, a large black area stamps solid black, every time. Frankly, I dunno how it does it.

I didn't have to make the surface flat, but keep in mind I've only carved one block of this stuff so far -- three or four stamps. I can't speak to their consistency of providing a smooth, carvable surface right out of the package.

Ain't it the truth. They need a bypass around that bypass. Whenever I'm driving in that general direction, I'll take great big detours through back roads to Athens or Rome or wherever just to avoid getting anywhere near Atlanta.

Hey, that calls for a series! At Four Corners you could plant a 4-box series that catches all four states, and at every other "triple point" (there are LOTS of those!) a 3-box series could be planted that catches all three states. There could be an entire series of these series.

Heck, one of those triple points isn't far from me -- although there is a body of water involved, so you'd have to be driving to get all three.

Anybody have any good idea what stamp images would be appropriate for such a series? Little outlines of the state map?

Heck, I'll be in the vicinity of two or three more triple points on my trip starting next week. No time left to carve stamps for those, though.
