It was actually a PT that I made for this event. It was so much fun to see how everyone zombified their sig stamps!

In the past couple of weeks we encountered a deer skeleton, a rotting raccoon,
and a dog/coyote newly dead.
The deer we think was hunted because the head was missing, even though it was a nature area
where hunting is supposedly prohibited.

I used to. When I first started I had, what I ended up finding out to be, a bit too large of a siggy. I then carved another, and grew tired of it quickly. Then another that just wasn't very fitting. But I haven't used more than one at a time. I have seen plenty of people use different ones for different things through LTC trading and postals. They will use a larger stamp in the postals, and a smaller stamp on their LTCs.

A wild animal like a coyote could have ripped the head off. Or, even if its death was from another aninal, someone finding it could gave taken the head.

I like to hope for the good in others when I hear a story.....

I hit 1,000,000 steps today! I'm not sure what I enjoyed more, the fact that I hit it on the top of a beautiful mountain with views of lakes, mountains and the Boston skyline in the distance or the peacefulness of being the only one on the mountain or the delicious taste of the cookie with the snickers baked in. Considering that I had all three at the same time, it didn't matter. Life is GOOD!

I would have been really annoyed if I was driving by and needed to use that rest stop (at 7pm on a Sunday night on I-5, I imagine it would have been pretty busy) and it was closed because of a suspicious object.

I have found a couple of geocaches in ammo boxes...my favorite one is hanging off the back of a tank at a museum with a huge neon green geocache sticker on it. I've also found a few letterboxes in them. Usually, though planters are smart enough to put them far out on trails so that they don't get reported as suspicious objects.

I bet that's a famous cache now!

There are 8 "M" states, so they take a while to go through.

The machines at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago went up to $1 a couple of years ago. Since then, I refuse to use those machines, even though I'm there a few times a month. I don't understand why they would double the price. Do they really need the extra revenue that badly?

Yeah, I was thinking a fossil as well. Not Fossil brand. A fossil on a necklace would be cool.

They do pique my interest.... what fun gifts they would make. But wow, pricey. If anyone orders them and finds them really good for carving, maybe we can see about getting a bulk order of it, for cheaper.

I think part of the issue comes that these places think you are getting one, and not realizing how many people were already stopping for multiples. Those of us that think they are fun to collect will typically get all four designs (assuming all four are related to the tourism, and not say two or three related to the place and the other one or two saying just "lucky penny", etc).

The tourists who get them are now more apt to get just one, or not bother at all. Those of us that collect them will think twice as well.

My gut reaction is that they drouble the price, they lose half or more of their business.

It's simple, really. The 50-cent machines are mechanical - there are coin slots that take the quarters. But a dollar machine is electronic, so it can scan the dollar, check for counterfeit, etc. And the electronics for that and even the electricity to run it cost money, so they HAD to raise the price to a dollar.

There! Logic!

How do we KNOW she is a witch?
Removing a HH from its own box

I recently found a box, and next to it, in its own small rectangular LnL, was a HH containing a small stamp and logbook. After looking at the box, it's clear that the owner sent the HH out in the LnL.

I'm seriously considering the idea of removing the stamp/logbook from the LnL. Trying to hide a separate LnL next to an existing box could easily jeopardize the hiding location of the traditional box.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Rocklun

Is the HH owner not on AQ anymore? And maybe they're on some other website. Can you contact them? I wouldn't change it.

I thought of contacting them, but they haven't logged in since mid-March.

I don't like to tamper with things like this, but I also don't like the idea of a traditional box's hiding location being compromised.
