I have seen some people that have different sig stamps and have been curious myself. I have one that I use 95% of the time and a smaller identical one for small books like hitchhikers and micros.

I can kind of understand in that I am itching to create a new sig stamp, but I also do not want to confuse people and maintain a consistent presence.

Thanks for that link. I never knew there were so many in Oklahoma. I only have one that I got from Woolaroc a few years ago. Two here in or close to Tulsa that I wouldn't have thought of, zoo, and Bass Pro shop. Sounds like a fun hobby.

I've had the same image for the last 8 1/2 years. Its just gotten better as my skill level increased, plus has reduced in size a few times. Still keep a bigger one, but rarely use it. The mini is the normal one I carry with me. About 1" square. Less space taken for the logbooks I stamp up in.

Grill the chicken and top with mango salsa or any other kind of fruity salsa. I got started with this while on WW and it is still a favorite in our family.

A word of advice: be prepared for lots of personal travelers, or PTs. Look 'em up in the glossary if you haven't already. They often require a bit (and sometimes a lot) of research in order to obtain, but can be pretty neat and teach you a bit about your fellow letterboxers.

So very true. But don't feel like you have to do much (or any) of this either. Boxing is the main fun, and all the extras are fringe bonuses. It can be a bit overwhelming to try to take it all in at one time.

There are a lot of layers to this website, so explore and read as you find the time. In the mean time, enjoy the boxing!

Oh, and welcome!!

A very successful attorney parked his brand new Lexus in front of his office, ready to show it off to his colleagues. As he was getting out, a truck came along too closely and completely tore off the driver's door.

Fortunately, a cop in a police car was close enough to see the accident and pulled up behind the Lexus with his lights flashing.

Before the cop had a chance to ask any questions, the attorney started screaming hysterically about how his Lexus, which he had just purchased the day before, was completely ruined and would never be the same, no matter how any car body shop tried to make it new again.

After the lawyer finally wound down from his rant, the cop shook his head in disbelief. "I can't believe how materialistic you lawyers are," he said. "You are so focused on your possessions that you neglect the most important things in life."

"How can you say such a thing?" asked the lawyer.

The cop replied, "Don't you even realize that your left arm is missing?" " It was severed when the truck hit you!"

"OH, MY GOD!!!" screamed the lawyer.

"My Rolex !!"

I used to do these, and love them... but I noticed recently most machines seem to take $1 to get a coin rolled. When did this happen? I feel that it was maybe a year ago that I was still paying $0.50 for one. It is a lot of fun to get them when traveling and see them at rest area's and the like. I just can't see under most circumstances paying more than $0.50 for this, and I think saddly that the higher price will kill this hobby over time.

My first one was a red hot mess. My second one was just my name in letters. I though, Im an artist, what am I doing?! So the main one I use now was born. Pretty big stamp.
I made a siggy stamp for HHs that is the size of a penny. It worn down quick. Wrong carving stuff. Then I made a siggy stamp small enough that i can fit three images of it on a penny. I use that for anytime I cant fit my big siggy. The main thing is mine has to have a cross and a crescent :)

Does anyone out there use more than one signature stamp?

Yes. I have my regular sig stamp, but I also have the following:

  • An old one that I keep in my car for letterboxing emergencies
  • A small one that I use when I'm stamping in white on LTCs
  • A small one that I use when I'm stamping in black on LTCs and can't fit my regular sig stamp
  • A zombified version of my sig stamp that I use in October

We currently have at least six.

1) Our main signature stamp.
2) A smaller version of our main stamp you can see in my profile.
3) A very small version used for small logbooks (cooties and HHs.
4) A Christmas themed stamp.
5) A Halloween themed stamp.
6) A winter themed stamp.

Plus more seasonal stamps to come as soon as I can think of something creative.

We have several too. I carry around our original store bought ones because they are tiny and good for small log books. Then we have our normal one w/ where we are from. The kids all have their own but we only use them if the logbook is big or for exchanges. And we have the small one just for LTCs.

Yes!!!!! Use as many or as few as you want! You are unique, and so should be your siggie stamps.

I have 3 that I use. Large, with my name and town on it, small with no name or town, and tiny, which I use on inchies or on hitchhikers.

I'm ready to create a whole new stamp, with my name in it, that feels more "me".

Thanks for posting this! I would love to do this with my kids. We enjoy letterboxing (well, at least one of them does! all three do on a good day!) AND I encourage them to be bookworms.

We actually have a children's book about Emily Dickinson, that one of my kids picked out at the OSV gift shop last year, the same day that we found a stamp you planted there. :) I'll have to find it & reread it to them before we embark on this adventure!!

Oh, wait - we didn't find the one you planted in Sturbridge. I knew I recognized your name, but got the boxes mixed up. The one you planted is right next to the pub where we always eat when we're in Sturbridge, but we're never there at the right time!

Sooo...hypothetically, if I were to accompany a friend to Nashville on May 13th to 15th, would there be any boxers around who would like to play? I would be available Monday night, all day Tuesday, and Wednesday morning.

Also, are there enough boxes in Nashville to keep me occupied. I suppose that I will go look at that right now. Haha.

She will be at the homeschool thingee, so it would probably be just me. I imagine that we would arrive around 4:00 on Monday, as her thing starts at 5:00. It is not definite that I am going yet. It depends on what arrangements I can work out.

October is super busy for us (Letterboxing Nationwide, planning and planting theseekers' lb event around their wedding, the wedding....), but maybe sooner (or maybe November because it will not be so hot anymore. LOL. Tigs and I have a list of places that we want to go, so I can add Chatty to our list. Hehe.
