Hi atomtaft008,

I'm not a premium member either........so I don't know all of the details on the restrictions on boxes only for premium members, but I have noticed it mentioned before that the number of them is extremely miniscule.

.....however....there are find and plant restrictions that are much more often used. I'm sure that because I haven't planted 10 letterboxes (or more) that I don't get to see some that have this type of restriction.

........and that's OK!

I can change that, if I choose, to be able to see more if I want.

I take duck tape and wrap it around a popsicle stick. You can do two colours on a stick and it's a lot lighter and less bulky

....I had been thinking the same basic thing.......

Except I don't even use the popsicle stick....I just start with a 1/16th inch fold-over onto itself.

Choosing a distance when adding a box
Board: Traditional Letterboxes

I added a new letterbox over the weekend and when I got to the "attribute" section of the process, I noticed that for distance there is a checkbox for "N/A or Not Specified" with a big red X for the icon. Quite honestly, I don't remember seeing this choice before but I've only planted 18 boxes so far, counting this one, and I generally specify a distance of "Drive by", "Stroll" or "Walk". Given my recent query about why some boxes have a distance icon and others don't, I guess the big red X caught my eye this time. There is a similar icon for type of stamp as well.

I think this is a great idea, whether it's new or I just missed it all these times. Then I went to the Advance search page and I see the big red X for for stamp type, but no big red X for the distance. So, you can search for boxes with unspecified stamps but not for boxes with unspecified distance. I'm sure there is a good reason.........

no one ever noticed the huge space ship almost crashing into Buckingham Palace in the first Angels episode (whose name escapes me at the moment).

If you are talking about 'Voyage of the Damned', those weren't Weeping Angels. The Hosts were machines, not aliens. And certainly the Queen noticed the Titanic, as she was shown fleeing the palace in case the Doctor couldn't stop the crash.

no one ever notices a TARDIS appearing and disappearing on various street corners in various places.

Perception filter.

Wasn't Rose "gone for good" three times?

Absolutely. And yet she still seemed to be able to find her way back through.

No one remembered the steampunk robot walking through London. But that was another issue.

Yes, that had to do with the crack in the universe and the Tardis exploding, which also caused Amy to forget the Daleks and the planets in the sky from 'Journey's End'.

I hated it for knife carving, but I adapted fairly well when I went back to gouging, where it's easier to get crisp lines and fine details. It resists well enough that I don't usually accidentally cut back into my already-cut lines, a pet peeve of mine and a constant problem for me. It works me way harder than either the pink stuff or PZ. I'll probably get more, but would really like to go back to my knife. Maybe the orange stuff. . .

Ummm....what about the twins bickering at the ping pong challenge? They were starting to get on my nerves quite a bit with that.

On another note, I couldn't believe so many teams didn't know what an abacus was.

And if I ever go to China, I am NOT ordering dessert!! :)

It could be this one listed on Letterboxing.org.

It must've been there before as a default, because otherwise we wouldn't be seeing boxes with nothing chosen for distance. If no distance is chosen, nothing shows up as an icon. It does draw your attention to it, which is nice.

I'm not sure why anyone would want to search for an unspecified anything, they just would leave that part blank? hmmm... I guess someone must've asked for that choice before. LOL.

My little one and I are spending a rainy day watching this.

We watched this with my daughter while she was still 8 and she loved it. Then we saw the episode of Phineas and Ferb (I think it's called Ferbalot) wherein they spoof part of the film - the bit with the grandfather reading the story to his grandson. I don't know that I've laughed that hard in my life - and what's better is that my daughter actually GOT it, along with a lot of other spoofed stuff in that ep.

This is what having kids is all about, right?

There's a grocery store in Louisville called Meijer that has this setup.

The Meijer near me took out the bulk candy/snack bins and replaced them with packaged candy and snacks. MUCH more sanitary, and much easier to keep track of what they are actually selling, but you can't choose how much of each you want.

I can't imagine any teacher who would want this to be their students' experience of homework. Talk to the teacher about what's going on.

I have talked with most of them. Some of them were helpful with suggestions and some just shrugged it off. Last year's teacher was by far the best. We talked quite early because she was mystified with how well he did in some subjects and how poorly he did in others. We spent a very productive year testing different strategies and ideas both in school and at home to help him. There were still days with tears but, the teacher and I agreed to a limit to the struggling and I would write her a note when we had a particularly bad evening. Some things helped but, there were no real improvements. By the end of the year, she had decided that maybe it was time to have him evaluated for a possible disability. I readily agreed and now we are waiting for that evaluation to be finished.

I am very grateful to that teacher for all of her efforts.

If you google letterboxing patches, several sites pop up.
Patches are usually made by individuals, so there's not a central spot to order from.

For example, I have (and sell):
the Postal Patch
and
the Slackboxing Patches
right now.

I sometimes have First Finder patches, but am out right now, and haven't had enough recent interest to justify reordering....

Yea but that was just sisterly bickering...they werent being downright mean to each others as some others have been.

Do you think the chefs and the locals in the restaurant get insulted when these Americans come and eat their probably expensive delicasies and practicaly gag over them and say how gross they are?
