Okay, now that is really weird. IE doesn't support text shadows at all, so even if your browser is using cached CSS pages, you shouldn't be seeing a problem! What version of IE are you using? Is there else anyone using IE seeing the problem? I have IE9 installed and text shadows don't work at all on that, even when I use the compatibility mode--and that's the most recent version of IE I know about.

For the rest of you, click the REFRESH button! Unless someone says they clicked the refresh button--not just reloaded the page, but refreshed the page--and they're still seeing blurring text, I'm going to assume they haven't clicked the refresh button and I'll probably ignore their post. =)

But I'm very intrigued with IE showing blurry text--I want to know how you did that! I haven't been able to make it do that to save my life!

1) tiggs is not going insane

Never said she was. =) I suspect it's a browser problem, though--so far as I can tell, all of the newest browsers support that trip planner search on the simple search page just fine. It's the older browsers where things might break.

And while I don't have a good solution for older browsers, with a little thought, I managed to update that particular search so at least if the JavaScript that makes those start and end points fails, at least it'll show all of the boxes along the selected route.

So if you try your iPhone now, "tiggs," you should get the boxes along I-89. You won't be able to select a start or end point with that browser--I'm not sure how to fix the JavaScript to make it work for your particular browser version--but at least the routes should work correctly! As a great designer once said, "It fails gracefully." =)

Well, I'll be hornswoggled. It took me a while, but I finally found the Refresh button on my laptop. Guess I should have read the instruction manual.

That took care of my shadow problem.

Oh, and I now I know how to put that cool quote box in my posts. Sheesh, I'll be a computer geek before I know it!

Awsome job everyone! I had so much fun reading all your accompishments! :) It's amazing how much can get done in 15 minutes. :)

I must admit, in a strange little way....I failed my own challenge. But with the mind set of 15 minutes, I was able to accomplish much, much more than I ever dreamed I would do yesterday. We tackled a PERSON! No time for anything other than "hey" and we got to spend half the day with our daughter doing something she needed us to help her with. :)

I think the greatest accomplishment yesterday was learning that we could go 15 min. emotionless in front of someone we really, really dislike! No anxiety for daughter and grandson to pick up on and feed off of. No one was put on guard or defense. We walked into the lions den, did what we needed to do and left. :) What a great feeling!!

Mountain moved and ready for the next one!

My home page now has a blank right column. Anyway to get the search box back to the top right? I search from there and it's irritating to have to scroll down to get it. I also liked the old style of not having to click the what's new buttons to see what was new....

You can just list them for Brunswick, Maine...

They should be listed as either WOM boxes or traditional finds. And use the limited time icon unless you are actually planning on planting them somewhere in Brunswick afte rthe event : )

WHY won't AQ take "Thomas Point Beach, Brunswick, ME" as the location for my boxes!!!!

Hmm. I didn't have any problems using Thomas Point Beach when I listed a couple of my boxes.

I typed in exactly what you have above, and it suggested the same thing with a county. I clicked on it, clicked "Store", and was good to go.

I've noticed the blank right side also on the home page. That being said, "My Page" is still the same, but I wonder if what we're seeing on the home page is related to the problems some of the other folks are having??

And so it goes....

I'm on IE7 and I have a right column. The home page is different, but I think it looks more user friendly for new boxers. Less confusing for people that are "just browsing." Once you get your right column, you might agree.

Try changing your display properties. I've had problems with websites before when I had my display properties set way too high or too low.

My son used to get poison ivy all the time. I used "Ivy Dry" on it. You just dab it on several times a day. It dries up the oozing blisters and the rash goes away in a couple of weeks.

Actually, the shadow problem just started for me. It wasn't doing it when I was at home all weekend, or this morning, but now that I'm at work, it is. Multiple refreshes do not help. I use Chrome both places.

How does the owner get the HH logbook back when full?

  1. Someone contacts you when they have the full logbook and makes arrangement to mail the logbook to you
  2. Someone scans or photographs the pages and emails you the images or what I do - put the images on a password protected blog page and give the owner the password.

You probably want to put a note on the back page of the HH's logbook letting people know you'd like the logbook back when it's full. But as mentioned, the chances you'll see the logbook again is slim. However, just last week I found a letterbox with one of my own HHs in it. It's been travelling since May 2007. I photographed the pages with the camera on my cell phone.
