I wonder if it would work to add a few drops of glycerin to the alcohol to slow down the evaporative quality?

well, the animation in the upper banner sometimes will slow down a computer a little bit. Haven't you noticed how, every once in a while, the different colored pencils will start bouncing up and down and it sounds like a xylophone? turn your speakers up when they start moving...they play the school days song you were quoting in your first post.

Mama Fox - who also realized she planted a box about a month ago she hasn't listed yet..... where ARE those clue notes.....???

We get a fresh start every september, I love it! Clean shiny floor, desks with no writing on them, new supplies, new posters, new bulletin board designs, new schedule - here we go! Snowflake

Wan't sure which board to put this on but I was curious which inks peopls like better, pigment or dye based ones. I was having quite a hard time choosing in the store because I didn't know much about them, then I read up on them, and think pigment type ones would be better but would like other opinions.

Pigment will give you brighter colors for sure. They will also won't fade. Problem is, they are very juicy. You'll need to take some sort of "blotter" with you to blot the ink if you go with pigment. Otherwise, when you close your logbook, you will have a shadow of the stamp on the facing page.

Dye inks are not as juicy and you shouldn't need a blotter, but they can fade over time. Personally, I use dye and have never had a problem with fading, but I'm pretty careful in storage of my logbook (ie. keep it dry, in a cool, dark place, etc.).

Some people use markers rather than stamp pads. Just color the stamp, then "huff" on it to moisten it before you stamp. Your breath will give enough moisture to give a clear image. Make sure you use archival quality markers if you go this way.

What a great idea! I can't wait! I will gladly demonstrate using a needle to carve. Will also bring some lights with magnifiers...needle carving is really detailed! If anyone else has a lighted magnifier...bring it along! I will also bring LTCs to demonstrate and trade!

Twas 4 days before the Millcreek Park Event, The Cats Meow is going strong, her energy not yet spent.

The weather forcast is promising skies of blue and temps in the high 70's, this much I hope holds true.

The clues are all typed and hold on for the hype. 55 is the number to wake you from your letterboxing slumber.

So throw on your hiking boots, grab your back packs. Arm yourselves with bug spray. It will be the best way to get ready for a fun day of play.

I sprang from my laptop with many things to do. Up my sleeve remains a trick or two.

As I ran out the door with Tom Cat in tow, I said come on you silly cat there is only four days to go.

So to all of our attendees, I bid you good day. I look forward to seeing you all on Saturday!

Just a quick note to say I have not worked on much of that letterboxing challenge since Mojo had the race car accident Saturday night.
She is fine but the car is not....it's toast!
We just found that out last night. The car's frame is now the shape of a slight horseshoe.
Man she drove hard... and wrecked hard.
All she cared about was she got 2nd place! LOL

anyway...
more cutie doc appointments this week and then back to the Challenge ;)

Are the Clue Packets you will be handing out the same clues as you find in the nearby boxes list on the event page or are there some not listed there? If we get there early can we get a packet or can you send them to my other e mail addy? Rod and I will be getting there a little early, around 9 I hope, and would like to look around or do a little boxing early. What do you advise?

I have a roll of TP. Excellent blotter. So, if you ever find a log book with a sheet of TP in it, maybe I was there!

For everyone that participated in my "grab bag special" just letting you know that they went in the mail this morning. Thank you to everyone who participated in helping me empty my box. I think I was able to send everyone that participated cards that they don't have and don't think I repeated any (unless you already have it and it's not logged). Please let me know when you receive them because I'm a worrywart and I've traded with someone before where all I got was the envelope with a greeting card inside and all the LTC had fallen out (all 20+ cards). That person was very nice and sent another set but I just want to make sure that everyone gets their stuff.
