Have I told you all how great all of my letterboxing friends and acquaintances are? Have I told you all that I have such warm thoughts about you, and that you make my hobby great and you enrich our lives? Thanks for being you, Grateful Letterboxer friends! Now

Couldn't have said it better, T1. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. I am truly, truly grateful for the blessing of so many new friends I've only come to know through letterboxing. And I keep meeting more and more amazing people, either face-to-face or online--or eventually both. How cool is that?

This is great, but I'm not sure I'm smart enough to do this. How do I set up an alternate profile under my yahoo! account? Is that the same thing as an alias? And how do I make sure that my alternate profile is the one signed up for the group?

What do you make with them

Get some of that really really sticky 2 sided tape called tacky tape???? or something. Its pink and very thick. Make a shape, an image, a letter, whatever you want out of the tape and stick the beads to it. They charge an arm and a leg for seed beads at those Stampin' parties. Most excellent for LTC's and cards and such.

If you talk to WW, tell her that I would be willing to do what I can to help her if she decides to host a Savannah event. I'm still fairly new to LB and have yet to attend an event but....I'm sure there would be something I could do to help her out.

She can contact me via AQ.

Yeah, I can't keep up with how fast the 2 of you are planting. It's only updated through 7/15/09 and even that is outdated! I do send a note every time I send one out to contact Shoafsters and wee3 just before you leave to get last minute updates.

I am sending you a copy for another update, though.

i use the sterilite stuff. The smaller drawers for all my inks, the bigger drawers for my stamps, and the really big drawers for my already camo'd filled with logbooks waiting for stamps, LB supplies, BIA, wires etc. The big drawers also hold my magnifier when i'm not carving.
i have many of the shoe box sizes that hold my beads, chalks, binding, ribbons, cropper chomper, dyna labeler and punches. My 12 x 12 paper is in the plastic milk crates that hold files
my 8.5 x 11 paper are in a rolling plastic file cabinet. i have 3 complete walls filled with shelving that you put 2 long pieces all the way up on the wall and then you put the brackets in at various places. (make sense?) i have another desk that forms an L shape with the computer desk that holds all my files/bills/important papers. On top of that desk i have a 1 inch space for really large papers/matboard (for BIA logbooks)
i have a computer desk that has a shelf above the monitor that i have stacked more of the wire stacking shelves that are for kitchen cabinets. All my pens, colored pencils, scissors, rulers and assorted toolage are in coffee mugs that are dear to me on a plastic lazy susan.
i scrap, LB, quilt, bead, and generally make a huge mess. My room is 9' x 9'.
My DH want to completely redo my room with matching shelves, containers and color coordinated. i said NO. Then i wouldn't be able to find anything. When everything looks the same with only labels on the front i go brain dead. i KNOW that the sequins are in the plate looking plastic thing. i KNOW that the yellow egg shaped can holds my wooden beads.
i call it my Scroffice. Scrapping Office get it?

The description said something about attenders coming to share their techniques and learn others. I would not be able to share anything particularly special, but would love to learn. Would that kind of ... selfish reason for coming be appropriate? I am getting ok at carving with gouges, but would love to learn new transfer techniques or how to carve with other tools.
Suggestion for advance searches by route.

Denise,
I love the picture of the little logcabin, it looks just like one that is on the property my parents used to own in Sweden. It was once a blacksmith's place. Low door and all. Made me homesick.

He can do 5 point font clearly and cleanly

That's just sooooooooo wrong!!! hahaha... I know, I know.. it's awesome how he carves!! But for ppl like me that keep trying to get "readable" letters/text, that's just soooo wrong that he can do that!!

HEY!! Wasn't Medic looking for help in posting a tutorial she had written about how he carves?? Please don't tell me NObody helped her??? Where is IT???

I need all the help I can get!! And I've seen both of them carve in person!! I see how they do it and the materials they use but sheeeeeesh, that's just so unnatural!! But I'll keep trying.. LOL ...

Just,

My nephew had one of those and it got knocked off and it was a shower of blood down his back. Immeditaely to the dr. and it turned out to be a harmless blood mole. It was really scary to see all the blood but to know that it ws harmless made us feel better. Good luck, and my thoughts are with u :) TG 19

Are there any letterboxers out there within the Santa Maria, Santa Barbara, and Ventura Counties in CA who would be interested in getting together for a Meet & Greet Event? I see a lot of these in other states, but none are anywhere close to where I live. Let me know ;) If I get a good response, I will set up an event and prepare an event box :)

Cool!

Let us know if there's an evening you'd be available for a mini-meet.

There are several good restaurants in both areas, although the Spaghetti Factory on the waterfront downtown seems to draw the biggest crowds to these things.

How do I sort LBs alphabetically by city within a state?

You can't, and it wouldn't be as helpful as you might think even if you could. For instance, here in Seattle, someone could list the city as "Alki," but that's actually just a part of "West Seattle," so it might be listed as that as well. Or, since it's actually part of the city of Seattle, listing it as just "Seattle" would be entirely accurate as well. To find all the boxes listed in this part of town, you'd have to search the listings for Alki, West Seattle, and Seattle.

When you consider all the other parts of town that can also be listed, a little drive through Seattle would require checking the names of a dozen or more "cities."

Searching based on distance makes more sense. =)

Ha ha, Sheba, didn't even know there was a book! Just a piece of trivia floating around in my head. Had heard that expression, but never knew what it referred to. Thought it was something to do with Charro, ah she wa wa, or some such nonsense. I think that's spanish for a compliment. (probably not nonsense to a spanish person) Like a sexy thing, ackkkk, now you tell me its something to do with a kids book, holy c--cuddly bovine! Now that's funny! Here I thought I was complimenting Chica, as a Wow gal! So tell me, what does Chicka Chicka Boom Boom mean then?

Holy cuddly bovine. One of God's holiest of creatures.

Moo.

I bet you young whippersnappers don't know who Charro is either. ha.
