If you order your tickets after 7/4 I will get an email sent out to you and you can pick up your patches at the event.

If for any reason you feel I might have made a mistake on your ticket order or if after a reasnable amount of time you still have not received your letter, please let me know and I will be happy to investigate for you.

Cheers and have a wonderful time at LB CON 2009!!

didn't every small town in America have a "five and dime"? My hometown it was called "Lumley's" and they served a delish 5 cent single-scoop or 10 cent double-scoop ice cream cone... mmm, yummy.. I'd ride my "banana seat" bicycle with the streamers out of the handlebars down to Lumley's just about every Sunday (that's when we got our allowance -- which was a dime!)... wow, guess I better go sign up...

do you mean a reward for folks who log their "finds" of cooties ?---cooties are not really "found" as they are thrust upon you and you often do not know you have them until you get home and clean out your bag.

~An adorable creation by Mn8X of OH is now in place and awaiting some finders. You will want to have this one in your log book.

We had a wonderful walk to place this box. The wild flowers growing along the trail are just beautiful.

is that Porta Potty always there?

No - the Port-a potty was rented for the event as was the location (by permit). Gates 5 and 7 will always remain locked. I had the keys for the event (and FYI, Gate 5 WAS unlocked - it just LOOKED locked... all you had to do was push). However, you can still access that area on foot if you park close to gate 5 or between the two gates.

Now at the Main Headquarters (Gate 2), there is a permanent port-o-potty that you can use located next to the Kiosk (which has a DCR Passport Stamp!). If you use it, or the trails for that matter, please consider throwing some pocket change into the donation box! PLENTY of parking here - Start of the Toon series.

yes, basically the series would all "fit" together. And anyone that had all of the cootie stamps in their logbook would get the "prize"... I'm rethinking, seems silly...but could also be fun-- like a little treasure hunt at a great big treasure hunt!

Why didn't you warn me that this was going to be so addicting.

Stand up, take a sloooooow, deep breath, and repeat after me:

Hello, my trailname is (insert here) and I am addicted to carving.

I first started carving stamps as part of my other addiction, known as letterboxing. Since I started, I have experienced periods of staring at rubber for hours and hours at a time. Although, I may be frightened to admit it...

*deep breath*

...I enjoy cutting rubber for self pleasure. There, I SAID IT! I think the first step to healing is admitting I have a problem. I hope I am around enough smart and mature individuals.......

*long pause*

...and wassa... to be comforted and understood during this difficult time. I know that you are all equally obsessed or you would not be here today. I think we can all heal in time from this insane obsession of carving into rubber.

Thank you.

*sits down*

*whispers to neighbor* : phew... that felt good to get off my chest.

I haven't rated a lot of boxes yet, so I can't speak to the whole downgrade box ratings, but I can sympathize. I work on contract bids at work, and the proper use of language is critical. When I have to review other people's work on the project, they tell me it's nerve-wracking and reminds them of former teachers.

I actually hand-write the clues if there are misspellings, poor grammar, etc. so that I can correct them, primarily because it drive me nuts. Also, when I hand the clue sheet to my 10-year old, I don't have to correct the grammar when he reads it aloud.

Finally, before you all "Toon Out", "Tune In" here and remember.......The Music Never Stopped!!!!

AWESOME tun!

P.S. Anyone else not want to actually use the clue packet for fear of messing it up?

I didn't use mine. Immediately tucked it away as a gift. I figure I'll collect them every year, starting this year, until gollygee and I are in our 100s (then she can stop making them...maybe).

How about cliping some straightened paperclips and heat one end and stick 3-4 of the "metal sticks into the bottom layer....then heat the remaining visible portion and then press the top layer onto the metal sticks/clips.

I had the same question a couple of weeks ago.
http://www.atlasquest.com/boards/message.html?gMsgId=401283;gAuthorId=14347

Follow that whole thread (it's not too long) for a complicated long way to get to your tags, and then an easy shortcut way to get quickly back to your tags thereafter. But still, I'm not really sure why "My Tags" doesn't just do what it says.

not that silly....and folks talk about cooties all the time, but most of the time they donot seek them out. Your prize could change that. And since cooties were mainly created for kids and to keep kids busy at an event. The challenge of getting all 5 or 6 cooties would be a good one for kids

Not sure if this is the right board for this question, but I remember once having seen a site which listed a slew of letterboxes in Chicago, and I can't remember where I found it. There were lots more than are listed on atlas quest or letterboxing.org. Does this ring a bell for anyone out there, and if so, could you help me find the list? I'm here on a business trip and would love to go hunting!
Thanks!

The idea of Multnomah Falls is nice, since some of the early OR letterboxes are nearby, but the graphics don't do it justice, in my opinion. The Mt Hood graphics are clean and really stand out nicely. I'm not much of a 'cutesy' person, so the duck doesn't do it for me (and I went to OSU). I voted for Mt Hood on the informal poll.

I assume the design would remain the same with just the number changing, for subsequent milestones?

Thanks for working on this, Mystic Dreamer.

That's a good question.... and the answer is.... that link is seriously whacked out! It's a broken link that isn't checking or tags at all. =)

I'll have it fixed in the Next Big Update, in the meantime, use this search instead. The link should have the term "gTags=255" in it to get all tagged boxes and the incorrect link is missing it.

Anybody downgrade box ratings because the clues are full of misspellings, bad grammar, incomplete sentences and faulty punctuation?

If that bothers you, definitely avoid this box. =)
