bec---I figured as much! =D It can be very stressful to make the decision to jump and so anyone on the fence, generally won't go through with it. I know for me it took me backing out way back and then it took certain tumblers to sort of click into place including taking that course at OSU.
I'm putting the canoing thing on the back burner for right now. I have GOT to get my Hocking Hills boxes squared away first and literally need to visit or revisit every single box---which is about 40.
I have now had a good 10-12 boxes go missing for 3, 4, 6 or even 12 months (100% confirmed missing) and then reappear?! VERY frustrating that they must be riding around in someone's trunk or at home and then get put back either after I change them to retired or recarve. I'm also starting to get reports of finds that are very savvy but that their profile only shows that one find and that the profile was only opened that day. (P pack---I am not talking about the stamp/box that you so kindly found and picked up for me---complete with AQ email---that you are bringing to me at SOHT.) If only those who either get stuck with the box because of muggles would give the courtesy of an email!! I would even pay for postage to send it back to me so I can replace the box if they are out of the area. grrr
**Anyone else experiencing any of this??

Actually, from a nutritional point of view, carbs are absolutely necessary. It is the excess of carbs, or anything else, for that matter, that cause big butts, bellies and other trouble.

Wow Brandy - I never thought of that but it makes total sense - apologies to those in the first swap I joined that I'd sent out my extras already in my excitement to show off my very first LTC!!! :-(
Won't happen again :-)

New Hampshire New Year 2009 Announcement
Board: Event News and Planning
Oct 1, 2008 5:37am
Hello! My name is David of Team New Hampshire. I welcome everyone to this press conference here today, being the 1st of October, for an announcement regarding my upcoming event called “New Hampshire New Year 2009.” For those of you that don’t know, “New Hampshire New Year 2009" will be held on January 17th of 2009 in Hooksett NH. http://www.atlasquest.com/showinfo.html?gEventId=609
For many of you that attended “New Hampshire New Year 2008" last year, the event came at a good time. We had been suffering from an abundance of snow which most of us hadn’t seen in years. Stuck at home for most of the winter, my event gave others the opportunity to get out and have some fun without venturing out into the snow and/or getting lost in a snow drift. Last years event brought friends together for fun, food, and letterboxes. Many of you came with stories and many of you left with memories.
-This years event should be no different. I have made a few changes of course. Last years theme was “New Hampshire’s Years Past.” This theme revolved around the things that happened in the past involving New Hampshire in one way or another. This year, I am proud to announce that the theme for “New Hampshire New Year 2009,” will be “A Presidential Ball.” This being a election year for our nations President, I thought it would be nice to have a celebration of our own, since most, if any, will not be able to attend the actually Presidential Ball in February in Washington DC. Now, we might not all agree on the person that will be elected to office, so I have decided to have an election of our own.
-Now since there will be a “ball,” this will mean that we all should dress nice in one way or another. Suit and tie, dress, polo, blouse, nice pants, and maybe not so nice shoes. I do understand there will be plenty of ink going around and hands will at some point get very dirty, so think about what you will wear to this ball. I wouldn’t want anyone to wear something they didn’t mind getting dirty. I really don’t care what kind of shoes you wear, being that some of you will want to head outside to search for a few boxes.
-Much over the year has been said between a few of us letterboxes about running that much soughed after office. But with my event coming up with such a theme, I would like there to be love, not war. So my next announcement will be about a mock election between several characters we may have known and loved as kids, one way or another. The first candidate to file paperwork is Miss Piggy. I am looking for 3 other candidates to throw their hats in. So with that said, think of a favorite cartoon character, and email me to file the necessary paperwork needed to get their name placed on the ballot handed out when you arrive at “New Hampshire New Year 2009.”
-A very special guest will be attending this event. A president from the past has graciously considered making a stop to thank everyone for their support. I have however, been asked not to reveal the identity of this presidential guest due to security reasons.
So, before I end this press conference, I would like to thank everyone for coming to last “New Hampshire New Year” event and look forwards to seeing everyone again at the next. If anyone has any questions, I will open the mic for questions......

Oh, I wish I could go!! I have to work late that night, and, unfortunately, it's one of those situations when I really do need to be a responsible grown-up--no skipping out to play. :-(
Have fun, and thanks for the invite, LL!

Yes, my dvr looks for the show title and not the time it is on. Mine is through Directv and I can record 2 different shows at once and watch a third that is previously recorded. I can't watch a 3rd live show, so we had to watch DWTS upstairs Monday night. Can't live without my dvr!!

Well, I can say with all honesty.... that this is the very first time, since relocating here to NC 10 years ago....... that I have ever thought "Wow, I sure wish I still lived in upstate NY"......
LOL
It would be awesome to attend the Presidential Ball.
David will tell of the event...... and he has that way.... of making us all feel like we were there anyway !! That'll have to do.

Now there's a thought. They have their annual Mother's Day climb and ski down...in a Dress!
How fun would that be. I've heard it's a pretty easy climb as far as mountains go.

You will get different answers to this question but considering that sometimes circumstances lead to delayed mailing long after a launch date, I never really worry about waiting for a swap to end before I mail out extras. To me, being in a swap doesn't mean you reserve the right to see the card first, it simply means that you will automatically receive one and don't have to set up an individual trade for it.
I know that some disagree, but in my book it's okay to trade when the cards are finished. The only thing I would point out is that sometimes it's a good idea to check if someone is in a swap with you before you mail the card to them. For the few on my auto-send list, I check to see if they are in the swap before mailing so that they won't receive duplicates.

Hi! There is a Super 8 and a Motel 6 in Westbrook, right off the Maine Turnpike. There are are plenty of hotels by the Maine Mall - Fairfield Inn, Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, etc.
Both areas are probably 15 minutes or so from Gorham.

That is Strange TT!! I've had a few go missing that I need to take care of (hopefully this weekend), but nothing that would make me take note of suspicious behavior.
